Hi I'm Skyler. You're about to read a true story about the past few months of my life. I hope some of you understand what I'm going through....
It was a bright, sunny, warm summer morning in June. I crawled out of bed and dragged myself downstairs. I sat down at the table and ate my breakfast when my phone vibrated. I unlocked it and saw I had a text from my next door neighbor and one of three best friends, Riley McDonough. Riley was the middle child of the three McDonough boys. Connor was the oldest and Toby was the youngest. I've known them for years. Toby and I just finished 8th grade and heading to high school in the fall. Connor was going to be a freshman in college while Riley was going to be a junior in high school. After the four years that I've known them I started getting feelings for Toby. He was really sweet and kind and caring and knew how to make me laugh even when I didn't want to, but most importantly he was always there for me until he started dating this girl in our class that hated my guts. He's always been with her and never me anymore. Every time I went over to their house she was always there. She'd give me dirty looks every time the boys left the room, well more or less when Toby left the room. I texted Riley back and got up. I went back to my room and got dressed then jumped out the window. I walked to their house and walked inside. "Riley I'm here. What is it?" I said loudly almost yelling. I noticed Toby and Charlotte making out in the living room. "Riley?" I called walking into the living room. Toby perked up. "Oh hey Skyler," he said with a half smile. "Riley texted me. Where is he?" I answered. "Oh. Uh he went somewhere with Connor," he said then going back to kissing Charlotte. Damn, I wanted to be her right now. Toby got up and went into the kitchen. I was deep in thought and biting my lip when he walked by. "Hey. Skyker," Charlotte said. I shook my head and glared at her. "I know you're daydreaming about Toby. Well you can stop right now because he's never going to like you. I'm surprised he even likes you as a friend," she said with a horrible attitude. God, I wanted to kill her.
