One Month later
Eleanor’s POV
I was so nervous, it was the day of Louis’s and my wedding day, loads of scenarios had been going through my head… would everything go okay, would the flowers be the correct ones, would my wedding dress look as good as it did in the shop, would Louis even turn up? I was sat downstairs at home with my mum and older sister Beckie; I was drinking herbal tea to calm my nerves whilst Beckie did my nails.
“Aww, I can’t wait for this El, my baby sister marrying the man of her dreams.” She said whilst she put on dark rose nail varnish.
“I know neither can I, but I’m worried Becs, what if the flowers are wrong, or my wedding dress doesn’t look right, this has to be perfect, it’s my wedding day, the day I’ve been dreaming of ever since I was little!” I panicked.
“Don’t worry darling, everything will be okay I promise you, nothing is too good for my daughter.” Said my mum
“Mum, can I ask you something?” I said to her.
“Yes sweetie, anything.”
“What was your wedding day like with dad?” I asked her.
“Oh, it was well, a bit last minute shall I say.” She laughed. “ Your father and I were due to run away from home, flee the country to America, because your Grandad Edward didn’t approve of your father. So, it was the last day of school (we were both eighteen at the time) and your father was due to go on a holiday, just he and his brother. But your uncle didn’t want to go, so your father asked me, I of course said no, but he talked me into going, and then proposed at the airport, we went to America, and the next day we were married at the Venus Hotel in New York. Nothing fancy, just a few people, the vicar and us. We stayed in America for five years before moving back to England and having Beckie and later on you, and we’ve been in this house here for about 30 years now!” she told us, smiling the whole way through.
“Aww mum, that’s lovely.” Both Beckie and I said together.
“I know, that’s one to tell the grandchildren eh El.” My mum winked at me.
“Wooah not yet mum, don’t quite think Lou’s ready for children just yet.” I told her.
“Don’t worry darling, all in good time… anyway Beckie how do those nails look?” she asked my sister who was just finishing my nails.
“Fab.U.Lous” she said. I gasped.
“Beckie, they’re beautiful!” I exclaimed, they were a dark rose colour with a white detailing on each thumb, and each finger had a small gemstone in the top left hand corner.
“Thank you, well I guess being a beautician for celebrities does pay off.” We all laughed. “Now for your hair, how do you want it?”
“Erm, a fishtail plait going from the side of my head here” I said pointing to the right side of my head. “ Round the back of my head and into a plait down my left shoulder. Simple, but effective.” I told her.
“Sounds brilliant babe, I will work my magic and see what I can do.” She told me.
“I’ll do your make-up then sweetheart.” Said my mother.
“Okay mum.”
An hour later and my hair and make-up were done, my make-up was natural, highlighting my eyes and cheek bones, my hair was just how I wanted it but ten times better than the picture that I had had in my head.
“Now it’s time for the dress.” Said my mum bringing it in. “Stand on here for me dear will you.” She said pointing to the stool in the living room. I stood on the stool and she brought in my dress. It was lovely, it was white strapless with detailing going across the middle, and it had ribbon at the back that tied into a bow. I had a long train that was folded neatly at the moment, and my veil, which would be attached just before I left the house (so I wouldn’t spoil my hair). I slipped it on and my mum did it up at the back for me, she sorted out the bottom of it to make sure it didn’t ruffle and crease, I put on my shoes and stepped down. I looked into the full-length mirror that was in the hallway.
