A Change Of Heart (Hiccup x OC)

14. When lightning strikes

I flew past a monstrous nightmare and a gronckle both sitting on houses only for them to fall through shortly after. Hiccup had decided to make support posts in front and above the houses of Berk so dragons could perch on them and not break so many houses.

I flew Storm to test out the new perch made she hesitated slightly before trying it out."It's okay girl," I said in encouragement.

Storm landed smoothly on the support and made a growl of approval at the back of her throat. "Well you've got one dragon that approved!" I yelled down.

Hiccup laughed happily."Thanks Cas!"

"Yes it works!" Fishlegs exclaimed.

"Way to go!" Espen said in excitement.

Snotlout whooped and Astrid laughed.

"So we built these things so stuff wouldn't break?" Tuff asked.

I landed next to him."Yes Tuff we did," I said already agitated by his comment.

"I don't understand you people," Ruff said.

"Well if it helps we don't understand you either," Espen said.

Ruff and Tuff frowned at him.

"And they tricked us into helping them building them!" Tuff exclaimed. "I feel so used. And sweaty."

Both the twins threw their hammers onto the ground. I rolled my eyes at them. The twins sniffed themselves then walked off probably to bath. Everyone looked at them as they walked off.

"Astrid you wanna race?" I asked shaking my head slightly after watching the twins walk off.

"Totally!" She said,"Lets go!"

She got onto Stormfly's back and took off.

"Oh you cheat!" I yelled.

I whistled for Storm and ran after her Storm picked me up and flipped me onto her back flying off.

"Perches for dragons!" Stoick announced,"Some off your best work son!"

We all held our mugs up in a toast for the perches. Hiccup had invited me around for dinner and we were celebrating Hiccup's work of the perches.

"Ah although we might need to move that one over the well," Stoick said. I glanced down at the mug I was drinking out of and grimaced I mean I hadn't drank out of it yet.

Gobber took a look to and put his down also. Stoick went to grab Hiccups as he talked.

"And the perches are just the beginning," Hiccup said eagerly. I smiled at his eagerness and happiness."We could build landing areas for them like at Cas' house."

I nodded holding in a laugh as Stoick got held of Hiccups cup and dragged it out of his grip slowly.

"Maybe even stables in the caves underneath the village and-"

Hiccup was cut off by Stoick who said,"Easy son," And happy he had finally grabbed hold of the cup put it down by his and Gobber's so Hiccup definitely didn't drink out of it. "Remember Berk is still for people."

I watched as Storm and Toothless ate happily out of their own separate piles of fish for their dinner. I frowned as I saw their heads shoot up usually they kept their focus on eating unless something bad was happening.

"Vikings before dragons!" Gobber exclaimed.

Toothless and Storm looked at the table in almost warning or was it knowledge of something happening we didn't know about.
