A/N: [It's some random holiday — use your imagination or something, I don't know.]
All of Class 2A was in the common area, buzzing with excitement as they prepared to head out for their day off. Bags were packed, shoes were laced, and laughter filled the room.
"Izuku, are you sure you don't want to come with us?" Momo asked, concern in her voice.
"It's fine, guys. Go have fun. I'm going to be okay, I promise," Izuku said with a big smile.
"Alright, man, but don't hesitate to call if you change your mind!" Kirishima added, giving him a thumbs-up.
"Yeah! We'll bring you back some snacks!" Denki grinned.
A group hug followed, filled with warmth and lingering giggles, and one by one, everyone said their goodbyes and left, leaving the dorms unusually quiet.
Izuku's P.O.V
I've been so busy that I didn't even have time to unpack the things I got from the mall. But now it's time for my fashion show.
"Hey Siri, play Megan Thee Stallion," I called out, grinning to myself. The upbeat music filled the room, setting the perfect vibe.
I started digging through my shopping bags, pulling out the clothes I'd picked up.
"Oh, I don't know what Todoroki was talking about — these shorts look amazing on me!" I admired myself in the mirror, striking a few exaggerated poses. "Ahh, with these shoes and this top, I really am amazing."
I paused, frowning at a shirt I'd pulled out. "I'm not a fan of this shirt, though. I don't really think it fits my vibe."
As I shuffled through the rest of the bags, something caught my eye — a sleek, designer box I didn't remember buying. Curious, I picked it up and opened it.
"Hmm... what's this?"
Inside was a pristine Louis Vuitton shirt — way too expensive for me to have bought. Realization dawned.
"Oh, this must be Dabi's... because I can't afford Louis Vuitton," I muttered to myself. I chuckled softly, imagining Dabi accidentally sneaking his fancy shirt into my bags.
I pulled out my phone and started typing a message:
Izuku: Hey Dabi, I think I have something of yours. Wanna swing by and grab it?
I hit send and flopped back onto my bed, feeling content. The music continued to play, and for once, everything felt calm. Even if I was spending the day alone, maybe that wasn't such a bad thing after all.
A knock on the door startled me out of my lazy daze. Confused, I glanced at my phone — no response from Dabi yet. I grabbed my hoodie and padded to the door, cracking it open.
"Yo." Dabi stood there, hands stuffed in his jacket pockets. His usual smirk softened into something less smug. "I was in the area. Figured I'd grab my shirt."
"Oh! Yeah, come in!" I stepped aside, and Dabi entered, eyes lazily scanning the room.
"Nice place," he muttered, dropping onto the couch like he owned it. "Looks like you had a party with yourself."
I laughed nervously. "Fashion show," I admitted. "I was trying on stuff from the mall."
"Fashion show, huh? You win?" Dabi teased, tossing his feet up on the coffee table.
"Obviously," I shot back, grinning. "Here, your shirt." I handed him the box.
"Thanks." He took it, then paused. "Hey... you hungry?"
"Uh... kinda?"
"Good," Dabi grunted. "'Cause I brought food." He held up a paper bag I hadn't noticed before. "It's nothing fancy, just some takeout, but... I figured you might want company."
I blinked in surprise, then smiled. "Yeah... that sounds awesome."
For the rest of the afternoon, we sat on the couch eating and laughing at whatever dumb show was on TV. Dabi never explained why he stuck around so long, and I didn't ask. But honestly, I was glad he did.
Between bites of food, Dabi started to relax more. His casual grin turned genuine, and he slouched deeper into the couch. "Y'know," he said between mouthfuls, "I never really did stuff like this growing up."
I glanced at him, surprised. "What, hang out and eat too much takeout?"
"Yeah," Dabi chuckled, then shrugged. "Never had anyone to do it with." He played with the wrapper of his food, his voice softer. "Just kinda... kept to myself, I guess."
"Well," I said, nudging his shoulder with mine, "you've got people now." I smiled. "And you're always welcome to hang out here."
Dabi scoffed, but I could tell he appreciated it. "Yeah, well... don't start getting sentimental on me, nerd."
"Too late," I grinned.
For a while, we just sat there — the sound of the TV filling the room as we relaxed into the comfortable silence. Somehow, it felt less like a random visit and more like something... normal. Something nice.
