The abandoned building was dimly lit, its atmosphere thick with dust and neglect. Flickering tube lights buzzed, casting eerie shadows on the cracked concrete walls. Rusted metal beams leaned haphazardly against the corners, and broken chairs were strewn about as if the place had been left in a hurry years ago. The air smelled of damp wood and the lingering scent of something metallic—perhaps old blood, perhaps rust.

Yet, in the middle of this desolate place, an area was transformed into something bizarrely cozy. A large rug was spread out on the floor, soft cushions scattered around, and a low table in the center held an assortment of food—snacks, sodas, and freshly delivered pizza. The contrast was almost comical. A group of friends lounged comfortably, laughter ringing through the abandoned halls as if they weren’t sitting in the most suspicious setting possible.

At first glance, it looked like a casual hangout—a group of college students enjoying their time together. But one look to the side, and the situation took a sharp turn into insanity.

Two girls stood trembling, their hands shaking as they held a tray of water. Their faces were pale, their bodies rigid with fear. It was clear that they were here against their will. And the smug satisfaction on Aditi’s face confirmed it—she had kidnapped them.

And just behind a pillar, unseen by anyone, stood Avyan, Daksh, and Aarav.

Their expressions? Pure horror.

I don’t know what I expected but it definitely wasn’t this

I don’t know what I expected but it definitely wasn’t this.

I knew that my darling little "dramatic masterpiece" had a few screws loose. I had seen her throw tantrums, threaten people, and even stage full-blown emotional performances to get what she wanted. But this? This was another level.

I stared at the scene before me, unable to decide whether I should be impressed, horrified, or just outright concerned.

Aditi sat like a mafia queen in the middle of the rug, sipping her Coke with a relaxed expression. Kritika and Lily were laughing beside her, completely unbothered. Smridhi leaned forward, engaged in whatever gossip they were sharing. And Vihaan—who I knew was discovering this madness for the first time—was holding his head in disbelief, muttering something about how he thought Aditi needed protection, but instead, it was the world that needed protection from her.
