I was looking for Avyan and Aarav when I heard someone crying near the poolside. Why is this person's cries affecting me so much?
Shaking my head I made my way towards the pool when my eyes fell on a beautiful and petite trembling figure.
"Kritika" I gasped and walked towards her.
She was sitting on her knees, desperately looking for something inside the pool.
My steps halted for a brief moment. Kritika? Crying?
That sight alone sent an unfamiliar ache straight through my chest. I had seen her throw tantrums, fake anger, and even pout like a child, but this-this raw vulnerability-I had never witnessed before. And I hated it.
Without thinking twice, I moved toward her, dropping to my knees beside her. "Kritika?" I whispered softly. "What happened?"
"What are you doing here?" I questioned " And why are you crying like that?" Her cries are fucking hurting me.
But why? I hate her!
Right?
She didn't respond. Her fingers clutched at the fabric of her dress, her entire frame shaking as she struggled to control her sobs. I could see her lips part slightly, but no words came out. It was as if the pain had stolen her voice.
Something twisted deep inside me. I didn't know why it hurt to see her like this. Why it felt like her cries were pulling at my very soul. But all I knew was that I couldn't just sit and watch.
"My-my ch-ch" She choked on her words. Her eyes were red due to continuous crying.
"Please don't cry baccha" I wiped her tears and before I could stop myself, the words flew out of my mouth "It's hurting me....alot."
She snapped her face at me. Her eyes were wide, with a flicker of surprise and amusement along with something more softer? Something I couldn't yet decipher.
