I wake up with the bright sun blinding me. I close the curtains and realize Liam wasn't here. I look to see my phone with a text.

Liam

Sorry I left without telling you, I didn't want to wake you up but, I went for a run with Mason, I'll see you later at school.

I walk to my drawers and pick out an outfit. I decided not to look all fancy
because 1) it's school and 2) I didn't feel like picking a dressy outfit. Gosh I hope Lydia doesn't kill me. I grabbed light ripped skinny jeans and a mint green long sleeve with my chucks.

I go to the restroom and put on mascara and put some foundation over my burn then brush out my hair. I go down stairs to get some cereal and a banana.

"Maya hurry up we're leaving in 5 minutes" Stiles says running downstairs. I groan and finish my cereal and banana. And run back upstairs. I brush my teeth and grab my backpack and phone.

Stiles is already waiting for outside, turning on the jeep and I sit in front.

"Took you long enough" he said.

"That was less than 5 minutes Stiles" I snapped.

We finally made it to the school and I go straight to my locker.

"Hey Maya" I close the locker door to see Mason.

"Oh, hey Mase" I said.

"Have you-" we both said at the same time and laughed.

"You first" he said.

"Have you seen Liam? He slept at my house and he told me he left early because he went to go running with you" I said.

"Why was he asleep at your...nevermind don't answer that. I was actually going to ask you the same thing because we did go on a run but he disappeared when he was running ahead of me."

I raise an eyebrow confused not knowing what to say but Scott came up behind us.

"Have you guys seen Liam? I tried calling him but he hasn't answered" he said.

"No. I've been texting him but he hasn't answered either." Mason said. I gave Scott a worried look and we walked to coach's office.

"Sorry guys, Liam skipped my class " he coughed. "Maybe he's sick, like me"

"He didn't look sick on our run"

"He hasn't gotten back to any of my texts." Scott said. The school bell rang and Mason said bye.

"Scott. I'm worried. What if something happened to him?!" I said freaking out.

"Hey, Maya it's okay. I'm sure he's okay"

Scott's phone started ringing and we both saw the caller ID and answered it right away and put it on speaker, walking away from the students.

"Liam?!" I said.

"I think you already know the answer to that, Maya." A voice said through the phone. A voice I've heard before. Garrett.

"Where is he?" Scott asked angrily.

"Come on, like I'm actually going to tell you"

"I'll give you the money" Scott said. Wait , money?

"Yeah. You will" Garrett said. "But that's not going to get you Liam back. You're going to have to put in a little more effort than that"

I looked at Scott, who was looking at the phone.

"What do you want?" I asked him.

"I want the money. And Violet." He said. "Or you never see Liam" He finished and hung up. I felt tears in my eyes.
