synopsis... Y/N Liu, star pitcher and golden boy of the school, is used to getting everything he wants-until he meets Daniela Avanzini, the no-nonsense cheer captain who shuts him down without hesitation. What starts as curiosity turns into something deeper as Daniela's quiet confidence challenges everything Y/N thought he knew about himself. But just as the walls begin to fall between them, a misunderstanding and an unexpected injury on a school trip force them both to confront the feelings they've been too scared to admit. Slow-burning, emotionally charged, and full of quiet longing, this is a story about chasing someone not to win-but to become someone worth choosing.

Y/N had always been the type to get what he wanted if he tried hard enough. Whether it was on the baseball field or in the halls of his high school, there wasn't a single thing-or person-he couldn't charm his way into. He was the team's star pitcher and their cleanup hitter, the name people chanted from the stands and the face that showed up in more than a few of the junior class's daydreams. Confidence came easy when you were the golden boy-especially one with sharp cheekbones, a cocky grin, and a killer fastball.
So when he decided to shoot his shot with Daniela Avanzini, the captain of the cheer squad and easily one of the most magnetic girls on campus, he figured it would play out like everything else in his life. A few compliments, a flirty smile, maybe a bouquet of flowers if he was feeling ambitious-she'd be his in no time. But instead, he was met with a soft, almost amused smile and a shake of her head.
"Not interested," she had said. Just like that.
He stood there, stunned, more by the fact that she didn't even give him a second glance than the rejection itself. At first, he told himself it didn't matter. So what if one girl didn't fall at his feet? He could have anyone. Hell, half the cheer team probably would've gone out with him if he'd asked.
But the thing was-he hadn't asked anyone else. And worse, he couldn't stop thinking about her.
Daniela wasn't like the other girls who giggled at his jokes or flipped their hair hoping he'd notice. She didn't try to impress him. She didn't care that he was the most popular guy in school. In fact, she barely looked his way unless he was making a scene-which, to be fair, he usually was.
