First Love

Chapter 7

"Jen, Brit, get up. Yall gotta go in a few minutes." My mom said tapping me us.

Britlyn got right up. I laid there a minute to get myself and vision together. I really shouldn't sleep in my contacts.

I tried not to act awkward because Brit already thought I was gay. I didn't wanna be weird about it.

We got ready and waited for my mom.

"Good morning" I finally said to Brit.

"Good morning" she replied with a smile.

Thank God, a smile.

"My bad about last night, I was tripping" I said.

"You good but if you meant it, don't apologize.."

"I don't know if i did.."

"Yes you did, you thought you was gone get some on the 1st night didn't you?" She laughed

I just laughed and nodded.

"Nah, it ain't that easy." She laughed with me.

Just after our conversation ended my ma came to the front ready to go.

"Come on yall ready?" She asked

"Yes" we replied in unison.

We left and headed for chick-fil-a. We were pushing for time though, we had to hurry up.

By time we got to school everyone was on the bus including Coach Harrison. Uh oh.

"Good morning ladies." Coach Harrison said to us.

"Good morning"

"Morning"

We made our way to the next available seats. I sat with Jaid and Brit sat with Katie. I was kinda jealous cause I wanted to sit with Brit. I just felt so attached to her. Brit and Katie were whispering about something  when Jaid was telling me she was gonna lay on the floor most of the ride before she moved there.

"You got some last night?" Katie asked me with a smirk. I figured she was kidding....right?

"Nah Ian get nothing." I laughed and gave Brit a look. She just shrugged

They talked almost the whole ride, either about Katie'scousin(Brit's ex) or taunting me. I wasn't trying to hear it so I went to sleep about 30 minutes into the ride.

We won 2/3 games that day and I had been basically attached to Britt's hip because I knew Katie and her would reunite on the bus and they wouldn't be worried about me at all.

Once we were leaving Tennessee I had the seat to myself because Jaid was playing cards a few rows up. I was just about to tune out all the noise and doze off when Britt said something.

"Jennyfer, what's wrong?"

"Nothing I'm just tired" I said in a low draggy voice. I figured she thought I was lying.

"Oh. Ok." She said and continued to talk to Katie. Two minutes later I was knocked out.

3 hours later...

"Jen, wake up...we're here." Katie said as they were getting off the bus. I got myself together then I got off the bus. I was so tired I couldn't even think for real. As soon as I was home in my bed, I went straight to sleep.

The next day I woke to a good night text from Britt that I forgot to text. I knew we weren't together but it felt like it to me.

Britlyn Rogers: Goodnight bae😘 sleep tight❤️

Jen Martin: Goodmorning love😏😍 hope you slept well.

It was 8:03 on the day after game day so I figured she was sleeping and would text me later. I got up and decided to clean up because Brit and I had planned for her to come over for the weekend. I figured she liked me back because we had been talking every day non stop. We had been face-timing, snap chatting and kiking almost every minute of the day. We were just getting to know each other and all but she had me feeling so in love with her. I hated in a way because I couldn't express it really.

Britlyn kiked me back around 9:30 when I was fixing some cereal for breakfast.

I decided not to text her back and just call her. I liked talking more than texting anyway. And plus what's wrong with running a little morning time game on my future girl friend. 😬 yeah I said it.
