Zoo

The zoo was a short drive away, and by the time they arrived, Vanya was practically bouncing in her seat with excitement. She had her favorite yellow hat on, which she insisted was her "zoo hat," and a small stuffed animal tucked under her arm.

Vansh helped Riddhima lift Vanya out of the car and placed her on his shoulders. "Ready, princess?" he asked, smiling as she giggled.

"Yes! Elephants first, please!" Vanya exclaimed, pointing toward the entrance.

Riddhima chuckled and grabbed the stroller. "Let's pace ourselves, Vanya. We don't want to tire you out too soon."

They strolled through the entrance, and Vanya immediately began pointing at every animal in sight. "Look, Mama, birds!" she squealed as a colorful parrot perched on a nearby tree. Riddhima waved at the parrot, smiling at Vanya's enthusiasm.

They made their way toward the elephant exhibit, where Vanya's excitement only grew. The large, majestic animals were eating their lunch, and Vanya's wide eyes followed every move they made. "Big elephants!" she whispered, leaning forward in Vansh's arms.

Vansh crouched down to her level and smiled. "Yes, they are big, but gentle too. Just like you're growing up to be, Vanya."

As they stood there for a while, watching the elephants, Riddhima could see the joy on Vanya's face. It was moments like this, small but full of warmth, that made her heart swell with love for her daughter.

After a few minutes, they continued walking through the zoo, stopping by the monkey enclosure next. Vanya giggled uncontrollably as she watched the monkeys swinging from branch to branch. "Look, Mama, they're playing just like me!" she said, clapping her hands.

Vansh smiled and nudged Riddhima. "She's definitely her mother's child—full of energy and always on the move."

They watched the monkeys for a while, and then it was time for a small break. Vansh found a bench near the zoo's cafe, and they sat down to enjoy some snacks. Vanya had a juice box and a small bag of crackers, while Riddhima and Vansh shared a light sandwich.

Vanya, still excited, didn't sit still for long. She hopped down and ran to the nearby fountain, splashing her hands in the water as the sunlight danced off its surface.

"Be careful, Vanya!" Riddhima called out, but she couldn't help but laugh at her daughter's antics. Vanya was a whirlwind of energy, and it was clear that the trip had been just the right thing to lift her spirits after the vaccine ordeal.

Vansh, always calm and steady, was content just to observe, his eyes softening every time he looked at his family. "She's going to have so many stories to tell when she's older."

Riddhima nodded, glancing at Vanya. "I hope we can keep making memories like this... just simple moments that she'll carry with her."

After their break, they continued their tour, stopping at the giraffes, the zebras, and even the petting area where Vanya had the chance to feed a small goat. "Look, Mama! The goat's eating my cracker!" she laughed, delighted by the little goat's eagerness.

As the sun began to set, casting a warm golden glow over the zoo, they made their way toward the exit. Vanya was growing sleepy, her earlier energy fading as the day wore on. She was content, though, holding tightly to her stuffed animal as they walked.

"Did you have fun, princess?" Vansh asked, his voice gentle as he carried her.

"Yes, yes! Elephants and monkeys!" Vanya mumbled sleepily, her eyelids heavy.

Riddhima smiled, glancing at Vansh. "A successful trip, I think."

"Definitely," he agreed, wrapping his arm around her as they walked toward the car. "These are the moments we need to hold onto."

As they drove back home, Vanya fell asleep in the back seat, her head resting against the window. Riddhima and Vansh exchanged a quiet smile, grateful for the simple, peaceful day they had shared.

They knew that life, with its ups and downs, would continue moving forward—but for now, they had each other, and that was enough.
