They didn't stay long in the hospital. Since Wilmer is a doctor and knows almost everyone in the hospital, there was no trouble for them to go right in. And it was a good thing – they'd escaped the boring, long hours of waiting.

But even that brief moment when they were waiting Demi had time to feel Wilmer looking at her, following her every movement or even breathe. But for the first time in her life, a man's attention didn't bother her. And it's strange.

But there is no time for thinking, clarify it because the car stops in front of her gates and Wilmer gets out of it and then walks around to open the door of her. She shakes her head at him, but there's a small smile playing on her lips because it's a really nice action, and gets out of the car.

Then Wilmer closes the door behind her then and helps Jacob to get out of the car too. He's such a gentleman but of course he could be lying, he still can be a serial killer or something, she can't be stupid or unprotected just because he's acting like a gentleman.

"Thank you, Wilmer," She says as she looks up at him and he nods his head, says that's it's not a problem, it was pleasure, but of course it is a problem because he has a work, probably a family as well and now he's wasting his time with her.

"So, goodbye, Demi and Jacob," He says and smiles to them before he turns on his heel to walk away but then Demi thinks that she should pay for him somehow and he wouldn't take money from her, she's sure about it, so she decides that perhaps coffee would be acceptable.

"Perhaps I could offer you coffee? I owe you that after everything you've done for us," She asks but then mentally curses herself because she's inviting him into her house and she knows nothing about him, she's not usually this irresponsible.

"First of all, you don't owe me anything, Demi," He says turning about to face her again, "But I will accept a cup of coffee," He adds then and smiles a little.

"Then let's go," She smiles back, takes Jacob's hand and walks to the gates. Quickly she finds the keys in her purse, opens the gates and then the three of them goes to the house.

Once inside, Jacob runs to the living room – it's afternoon, cartoon time, it can't be missed – leaving Demi and Wilmer alone.

They are surrounded by an uncomfortable silence at first and it's understandable because they don't know each other but usually Demi is very talkative, yet somehow she doesn't find the right thing to say, she's still overthinking the fact that she let a complete stranger enter her house when Jacob is at home.

"Let's go to the kitchen," She says and leads the way to there.

Wilmer is walking behind her and she doesn't like that much – why the hell did she let in the man she doesn't trust – so once in the kitchen she tells him to sit down to the table while she fills the kettle with water and turns it on.

When she turns around, she finds him looking around her kitchen and suddenly she feels insecure even more because he probably thinks her house is worthless, he probably has a huge and nice house with all those expensive things, but she pushes those thoughts away, she doesn't care what others think, she reminds herself and takes two cups from the cupboard, places them on the table.

"How do you like your coffee?" She asks quietly and he looks up at her and smiles again.

"Black and strong,"

"Just like me, then," She mutters and he smiles but she ignores it, pours three spoons of coffee to the cups and then sits down to the table in front of him.

An uncomfortable silence is back and Demi starts playing with her fingers nervously – what happened to her eloquence? – while Wilmer looks around the room.
