"That cannot be true. Read carefully dear" Mitsuki said, clenching her teeth in anxiety. "HOW CLEARLY DO YOU WANT ME TO READ THIS LETTER!" Katsumi lashed out. The parents were more stunned by the letter than her behavior. "How could she marry her daughter to that filthy bastard's son!" Mitsuki said in disbelief. "Maybe it's a misunderstanding...read again dear" Masaru insists. Katsumi hands the letter to him and leaves the room with a blank expression. The parents sigh heavy heartedly after reading the letter. They look each other with the most pitiable expression displayed on their faces.
Katsumi, not paying attention to the surroundings, walked to her bed chamber. Momo followed her and kept asking if she were okay but it's no use...Katsumi cannot hear her. She could only think of one thing- Izumi going away, forever. She reaches her chamber and shuts the door whilst Momo waits outside patiently, ready to barge in at the slightest hint of struggle.
Katsumi's eyes teared up. The Ruby red eyes seem distorted under the tears. She breaks down in tears. Silently sobbing. She was unsure about everything around her at this point. Did their love die? Was there ever any love from her end? Is she being forced into marrying? And that's when it hit her. Considering the time spent loving each other there is no way that a raggedy prince will sweep Izumi off her feet. She believed her love and believed Izumi needed saving. She stood up and opened her door with ambitious eyes leaving the worried Momo in confusion.
"What are you waiting for Momo. We need to save a bride from her damnation" Katsumi declared. The reignited fire and her ruby eyes as clear as day, she is ready to set things right.
Momo, obviously taken aback, says, "What bride? My lady." To which Katsumi replies, "Obviously the one I fell for" "Princess, I know love is not a trivial matter, but neither is abducting a bride from her wedding! Weddings happen with God's grace" "well this one is happening with the devil's grace" "Who is the bride here? Please tell me clearly" Momo says in a sulking tone, tired with the princess's exhausting energy.
"It's Izumi, my only beloved" Katsumi replies in soft and somber tone. Momo's ears perked up. "The same one you ran from?" "Yes..."
"Princess, are you saying the princess- Princess Izumi you ran away from is the same one who is going to be wed?" "Yes, Momo...don't stop me-"
"Does she have a bodyguard with red and white hair?" "Yes, what are you getting at?" "Oh, my lord! He came here a week ago and I denied him permission to enter the castle because his information was not fully trustable"
"MOMO...WHAT INFORMATION?"
"He claimed that there is a chance that Princess of Galilee- Princess Izumi get married to King Kosuke of Lockwood"
"And you decided it was not fully trustable?" Katsumi said with an annoyed tone, trying to keep her voice down; waiting for Momo's explanation.
"I had your best interest at heart when I made this decision, he was not completely sure about the information, but it seemed like a yes. I demanded proof, but he replied that it might be too late to get the proof"
"Tell the truth Momo" Momo sighs and bows down. "I did not want you to go back to the Emerald princess" Momo revealed. "And why is that?" Katsumi said, trying her best to not lash out. "Ever since I know you...I have never seen you cry like how you did when you found that letter. I think it's best if you don't return to a love like that" Momo said, clenching her fist and slowly raising her head; only to be slapped in the face by Katsumi. The slap stinged but could that compare to the cuts Katsumi bore on her heart for three insecure months.
"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TO DECIDE FOR ME? IF I WANT TO FACE ANY INCONVENIENCE THEN I WILL BARE THE CONSEQUENCES AS WELL! YOU DON'T KNOW ME, YOU DON'T KNOW HOW LONG I WAITED FOR US TO BE TOGETHER....if there are some bad times I should be willing to face it!" Katsumi lashes out.
"WHY SHOULD YOU BE THE ONLY ONE SUFFERING? WHY WAS THERE NO LETTER FOR 3 MONTHS AND NOW YOU GET A WEDDING INVITATION? OPEN YOUR EYES PRINCESS!"
"I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE SUFFERING! If that man came to talk to me then sure as hell she is not happy! You don't know Izumi like I do! Even if she does not express how she feels readily, it does not mean she doesn't feel anything at all! SHE'S HUMAN TOO!"
Momo breaks down in tears. Katsumi could only assimilate her reactions. Katsumi walks up to Momo and gently slaps her back creating a thud sound. "I understand what went through your mind but please don't interfere in such matters. If you still want to help me then meet me in an hour, I must save my princess just like how you want to save me but mines a bit intimate" Katsumi chuckles slightly. Momo looks up and sees her brave princess's face glistening in tears in the setting sunlight. I guess love is very strong, it's strong enough to tackle doubts and conspiracies.
An hour passes, rather slowly. Near the palace garden, behind a red tree
Katsumi is pacing back and forth waiting for Momo. The sun has already set. How much longer is she supposed to wait? Then suddenly she hears running in a distance. It's Yaomomo with a supplies bag. "Sorry i got late, I couldn't find a few things" Momo apologizes. "It's alright, not everything can be done on our own" Katsumi replies. "That is why we need more friends" Katsumi adds. "What are you implying, princess?" Momo asks. "Meet him, a secure line to meet and save my love" Katsumi says as she points towards Momo. Momo looks behind to see a tall body emerging from the shadows. "My name is Shoto. Shoto Todoroki, the one you rejected from entering the palace gates" Shoto says as he bows slightly and looks up.
