Well that hurt

It was a quiet afternoon when Jenn's migraine hit her full-force. She had been feeling off all morning, but by the time Krystal arrived, Jenn was pacing the house, pressing a hand to her forehead, her face pale. The usual quiet energy Jenn had was replaced by a drained, almost defeated presence. The next few days passed with Jenn taking it easy, and Krystal kept a close eye on her. Jenn was still reluctant to slow down completely, but after the migraine incident, she was a bit more mindful of her body's limits. Krystal continued to encourage her to rest, reminding her that her health had to come first—especially with everything on her plate.

It was late in the afternoon when Jenn received a call from Christine. The two hadn't spoken much since their last conversation, and Jenn had promised Krystal she'd reach out to Christine once she felt up to it.

Krystal watched her sister as Jenn answered the phone, smiling softly at her. Jenn's voice was still a little scratchy, but she sounded better than she had a few days ago.

"Hey, Christine," Jenn greeted, leaning back against the pillows. "What's up?"

Christine's voice came through clear and warm. "Hey, I just wanted to check in on you. How are you feeling? Krystal said you're doing better, but I just wanted to make sure."

Jenn smiled at the concern in Christine's tone. "Yeah, I'm doing much better. Thanks for checking in. I'm actually feeling pretty good now."

Christine paused for a moment before she spoke again. "That's great to hear. You had me worried there for a bit, but I'm glad you're on the mend."

Jenn chuckled, albeit weakly. "I'm sorry for worrying you. I guess I just pushed myself too hard, huh?"

"You've got to take it easy sometimes, Jenn," Christine said, her voice firm but kind. "Your body will make you slow down whether you want to or not."

"I know," Jenn admitted. "Krystal's been keeping me in check." She glanced over at her sister, who was sitting at the desk, typing away on her laptop. "She's been a real lifesaver."

Krystal smirked and raised an eyebrow, but Jenn couldn't help the warmth she felt from her sister's silent support.

"Well, tell her thank you for me," Christine said, and then her voice softened. "Look, Jenn, I didn't just call to check in. I wanted to talk to you about something—nothing urgent, just something I've been thinking about."

Jenn's curiosity piqued. "Of course. What's up?"

Christine hesitated for a moment, and Jenn could almost picture her pacing. "Well, I've been considering some changes with the band's schedule for the next few months. There's been some talk about moving around a few dates for a possible overseas trip, and I wanted to see what you thought about it."

Jenn's mind started to race. "Overseas? Where are we talking about?"

Christine paused before answering. "Europe, maybe. It's still in the planning stages, but I'd like your input on it. We want to make sure it works with everyone's schedules, especially since you've been dealing with so much lately."

Jenn felt a twinge of excitement, but it was overshadowed by the lingering caution from her recent health scare. "That sounds amazing, but... do you think I'll be ready for something like that? I mean, I've barely caught up on sleep from the tour last time."

Christine's voice was reassuring. "I get it. It's a big commitment, but I don't want you to feel pressured. We're not making any final decisions yet. I just wanted to get a feel for what you think, and how you're doing."

Jenn thought for a moment, glancing at Krystal, who was watching her with a raised brow. Jenn gave her a small smile, then responded, "Honestly, I think I'd be up for it—once I'm fully back to myself. But I can't make any promises until I know I can handle it without burning out."
