IM SO SORRY THAT THIS TOOK SO LONG

Halloween came and no one seemed to make that big of a deal about it. Except Hagrid. He was carrying a Jack-O- Lantern all day and making ghost noises, much to the dismay of the actual ghosts in the castle.

Hermione was wearing the bracelet and clip that Draco had given her. The clip was fastened in her hair. It was times like this that she was thankful for having her mane of hair so that there wouldn't be any questions from her fellow Gryffindors.

She had been looking at the piece of jewelry on her wrist during potions, examining it's every detail. She heard Professor Snape ask the class a question about a root that they were examining that day. She rose her hand, but he called on Ronald instead. Ron stammered out the correct answer. She watched Snape as he rolled his eyes and walked back to his blackboard. He lectured on about the properties of the root, and how it could be used to heal any wound, but if used incorrectly, could kill the recipient before it reached their stomach.

As I was walking across the courtyard, I heard Ron telling a joke to his friends, including Harry and a few other first years. There was a mixture of houses, but no Slytherins.

"It's Levi-oh-sa, not levio-sa. It's no wonder that little muggleborn hasn't got any friends," he exclaimed, exasperated. Hermione remembered what happened during their lesson on levitation. She had only been trying to help him, not make him mad. Just because she was a muggleborn doesn't mean that purebloods like him needed to degrade her.

She hugged her books to her chest and walked past him, bumping into his shoulder on her way. She saw him freeze.

"I don't think you should have said that," she heard someone else say. The rest of the boys laughed and she heard them run in the opposite direction. She continued walking until she reached the dungeon. She came to the portrait and waited.

"Who are you? I do not recognize you," the man said.

"I'm looking for Dra- Malfoy. I'm looking for Malfoy," Hermione said. She waited as the portrait left it's place. She assumed it went to the common room to fetch Draco for her. Two minutes later, Draco emerged from the portrait. His eyes went wide when he saw her.

"Granger! What are you doing here?!" he whisper yelled. He looked around frantically and grabbed her hand. She blushed at the contact. His hand was warm.

He rushed them to a pair of pillars standing in the corner of the room. He pushed her between them.

"I needed to talk to you. You said that if I ever needed to talk I could come to you, remember?" she said, pushing the tears back that were threatening to spill out. He brought her into his arms and hugged her as tight as he could.

"What's going on?" he asked after letting her go.

"All of the houses hate me. I need friends and have none that want to be seen with me in public other than my roommate. All of my professors either think I'm the greatest thing since sliced bread or they think I'm this huge suck up and that I need to stop being so show-offy.  The last two months have been absolute hell for me and I cant stand it anymore. I want to go home," she finished, letting out a sob. He brought her close again and held her as she cried. He rubbed her back and stayed quiet, waiting for the sobbing to go away so she could listen.

"Hermione, listen to me," Draco said, pulling back and holding her shoulders. She pulled back as well and looked at him expectantly. "I cant be seen with you in public but if you want I know about this tower that is closed off to the rest of the school. My mom and dad used to play there when they were younger. If you want, we can meet there every night or so and do our school work together and just talk and practice spells and stuff."
