I laid with Ashton, our bodies pressed against each other's. We didn't do anything, we just wanted to enjoy the other's company. Madeline was out with some old friends and Michael, Luke, and Calum were visiting their families in Australia. I didn't have a passport and Ash didn't want to leave me.

He kissed my forehead and muttered multiple 'I love yous' in my ear. I was in heaven and I loved him back.

That day I graduated college and we were celebrating, just the two of us. It was only a moment of time before Ash told me he was going on tour. My heart shattered but I didn't tell him not to go; in fact, I urged him to go.

The next day he left on the plane with the other boys. He kissed me and said he'd call. While he was on the plane he called me and when the police came to my house, it turned out that I was the last one to ever speak to him.

It killed me.

I walk back to the apartment and I stop at the door. I sigh and I push it open. Madeline sits on the couch and she bites her thumb nail.

"Wendy," she whispers. She runs towards me and hugs me tight. "Where did you go?!"

"For a walk," I reply.

Michael walks in and he runs towards me. He embraces me and I breathe in his scent.

"I love you." I whisper.

"I love you too, Wen," he says back.

"Not as a friend, Mike...I really love you." I pull back and look into his green eyes.

His lips latch onto mine. Soft but firm. It felt like we were the only two people in the room. He lets me go and smiles. "I've been waiting forever for you to say that," he says with a laugh.

My cheeks heat up and I see Ashton sitting on the couch. "Well done," Ash says with a smile. "You're happy. Continue to be happy with Mike. I love you."

I bite my lip. "I love you too," I mouthed. He disappeared and I look back up at Michael. I've finally let Ashton go. He can finally rest and so can I.
