Chapter 6 - Yes Homo + Not Awkward Dates = Jalex af

Hey there again! I'm in India rn and my dad's father (my grandpa) passed away and some sad shit happened and were leaving this place tomorrow but who cares here's this chapter.

About two weeks later, I was at band practice again.

Hey, I don't want to sound like a major bitch that's full of himself, but I started to notice how our band has been improving. We started covering other songs as well.

Alex and me were also getting closer, and he always said really cute things and said his "No Homo" afterwards. Zack's eyes were always full of jealousy. I didn't want to break his heart, but hey, I didn't like him so I couldn't do anything.

Zack suggested that we could name the band "All Time Low". He got the name from a song from New Found Glory.

„Do we create a logo?" Rian asked, glancing at the three of us. I noticed that Rian was the most hardworking one, he liked to get things done quick and he wasn't lazy.

„Can I?" both me and Alex asked at the same time, followed by a burst of laughter.

„If you want, Jack, we both can go over to mine afterwards and we can design it," he suggested.

„Yes, that would be great!" I agreed, perhaps to enthusiastically, because Rian raised his eyebrow, looking in between the both of us.

I saw jealousy in Zack's face. I felt sorry for him, but what could I do? Why couldn't he have a crush on Hayley instead? The both of them would do an awsome couple!

As we arrived at Alex' house, he led me directly into his big, messy bedroom. He had a lot of posters of rock bands hanging on his green walls. The blue carpet was almost entirely covered by clothes, magazines and socks. His desk was loaded with school books, comics, guitar tabs and band t-shirts. I smirked as I saw my initials on some of the books. How did I not notice?

„Sorry mate, my room's quite messy," he apologized, and blushed a dark shade of crimson. Aww.

I just shrugged in reply. „My room isn't clean as well, it doesn't matter"

„Aww, you're blushing," I teased him.

„Shut up," he said, looking like a fucking human potato. No, not potato. I meant tomato.

„Make me," I joked, imitating a girl's voice, and playfully grabbed his hair.

„Hey... Jack?" Alex said, suddenly sounding shy.

„What?" I replied, innocently.

„I invited you to create a fucking logo and not to make me blush like shit"

„Since when does shit blush?" I asked him.

„Shit doesn't blush. Okay, where shall we sit?"

„Anywhere, it's your choice"

He swiped some stuff from his desk and they landed on the floor. His carpet swallowed most of the noise. We both sat on his desk.

Alex showed me the ideas and sketches Rian had provided us with. There were a few good ideas. We both had been told that we should create at least three logos so we could choose the best one from them.

We started looking at the ideas and I started creating some sketches.

Suddenly, Alex put his pencil down and asked: „Are you and Hayley actually dating?"

Hayley and me? Dating? Ew no.

„Why? Do you want to date her?" I asked, even though I knew the answer very well.

„You know exactly who I like," Alex spoke. I knew, Alex was right as frick. But I wanted to hear it from him.

„I want to hear it from you" I smiled, studying his face. I'd rather study his face than maths.

He brushed his hair from his face. God, he looked so good.

„You"

I felt fireworks exploding everywhere. Wow, that sounded like an awfully cheesy lovestory. But hey, I really felt like that. There was really no other words to describe the way I was feeling right now.

I didn't really know what to do, and the silence was piercing our ears, so I just hugged him.

„Alex?" I mumbled, gaining his attention.

„Yeah?" His voice was uncertain, he almost sounded like he was fearing something.

„I like you too" I confessed.

I felt Alex relax in my arms. I noticed that I was hugging him for too long so I let him go, before it got awkward.

„Jack?" he asked. „You're not pulling a prank on me or anything, right? I know you're thinking that I'm a paranoid shit and you want to run away now, sorry"

„I don't think that, Alex, and you don't need to apologize. And no, I'm not pulling any stupid pranks here. I'm immature, but not emotionless" I reassured him, and gave him a short smile.

Tony once told me that he heard a rumour from someone that Alex had trust issues and that was the reason why he didn't get to close to people. I didn't know whether to believe him or not, and I didn't want to ask him, either, so I left it for now.

Also, just because he asked it didn't have to mean anything. I also thought it was a big prank, until he told me.

Apart from that, what does the term 'dating' actually mean? Like, you go on awkward dates together and when there is a particular 'spark' in between you both you start a relationship? Or you decide that your boy isn't sparkly enough and then you get up and go?

I wanted to ask Ricky, but then I remembered that he didn't know I was actually gay. Ricky did give good relationship advice. But if I told him, it would get awkward and weird in our little friend circle because Tony was a casual homophobe.

„Don't tell me I'm the only one fearing the awkward dates" Alex laughed.

„I thought I was the only one who thought they were gonna fuck up," I laughed, relieved that I wasn't the only one thinking like that.

„But hey, we don't need to do awkward dates," he smiled, stroking my cheek.

Then I noticed something.

„Alex!" I called out, maybe a bit too loud, because he jumped. „You forgot the no homo! I think you're gay now!"

„Sorry dude. I do it so people notice I'm not straight, I'm bisexual which is a pain in the ass, actually"

I didn't know why Bisexuality was a pain in the ass. I mean, you could fuck a lot of people? I didn't understand what else could cause pain in the ass except having a dick up your butt.

„Why?" I asked out of curiousity.

„You're too straight to be gay, and too gay to be straight," was his answer.

Wasn't there an album with that name?
