Chapter 6: See You Later Alligator

I reached into the bowl but there was nothing left in it. Dang it, I finished all of the chips. And they only lasted me for 8 minutes. I got up and went to go get some more kool aid. I had like 5 cups already buy I couldn't help myself, it's sooo goooodd.

I walked past a bunch of people dancing and singing until I reached his pool. Hmmm, there was nobody in it. That's weird, I wonder why.

I slipper underneath this weird yellow tape thing that said caution do not cross. Hehe like a stupid piece of tape is going to stop me from swimming. I didn't choose the thug life, the thug life chose me.

I ripped off my sundress making sure my phone didn't fall out of it and placed it on a chair nearby. Slowly, I went into the cool water. Ahhh, it feels so nice. I just sat there in the water with my eyes closed until I heard a voice yelling at something. I ignored it until they yelled out my name. I opened my eyes and looked for where the voice came from.

"Danica! Get out of the water! There's a gator in it!"

I looked in the water and saw a little alligator on the bottom of the pool. Is this some sort of sick prank? I started to swim towards it to see if it was real or not until it moved and started to swim towards me.

Oh shit, it's real and alive and now it wants to eat me. I furiously swam to the edge of the pool but it was faster than me.

I somehow managed to trip and I went underwater. I held my breath and sat there on the floor of the pool just watching it come closer to me. I don't know why, but I was surprisingly calm about it.

The gator was the size of my calf. It landed on the floor next to me and I clearly saw that it was tired and injured. I went to the surface to take a deep breathe of air and I went back down.

"Is she fucking crazy?!" I heard someone yell.

I ignored their comment and carefully picked up the baby alligator. It didn't even put up a fight with me and I carried it to the surface of the water.

I looked around and saw that almost everyone was crowded around the pool staring at me in shock. I saw Pix and Brent among the people and swam towards them. I handed the gator to Pix and she held it for me while I climbed out of the water. Something fluffy was out in my shoulders and I realized that Brent had wrapped a towel around me. All of a sudden, everyone started cheering for me.

"That was so awesome!"

"You have guts girl!"

"How did you do that?!"

"I just peed in shock!"

Everyone looked at the guy who said that and he smiled sheepishly and walked away awkwardly. I felt so praised by people I barely knew. Once all the commotion had calmed down, people began to swim in the pool again and Pix, Brent, and I went to someplace where it was less crowded.

"I'm going to go and bring this little guy to the vet and get him checked up." Pix said to me holding the baby alligator," do not go anywhere and stick to each other until I come back and pick you guys up. Ok?"

"Got it! See you later alligator!" I say winking at her. She smiled at my pun and walked into the crowds of people.

Brent and I walked around until we found a couch and plopped down on it. On the way, I found another bowl of chips and started eating that too. What? These were Doritos.

All of a sudden I felt someone hit my back. The surprise made me swallow the Dorito I was eating. I looked over and saw Brent giving me an apologetic expression. My arms flew up to my neck. I couldn't breathe.
