"Are you sure you want to do this? I mean you're going through a whole lot of trouble just for this girl."
"It's not for the girl, but for my heart," I growl back. "If something happens to her before I get my heart, than my life is over. I have to protect her until then. When the 17 days are over, so will she be."
"Blaze, let's just hope you stick to the plan." my friend says behind me. "I for one don't plan on digging your grave if you decide to die and let her keep your heart."
I grinned. "I would never do that. I don't give a damn about her only for the fact that she has something that belongs to me."
My buddy Trevon grins and we get out of the car and walk into our new school.

"Like I never had it at all all all all, all all all all, Like I never had it at all all all all, all all all all." Akila sang (more like shrieked) as we pulled into the school parking lot.
"The day I get my own car will be one of the best days of my life." I muttered.
"Don't hate me because I sing better than you. Keep up that attitude and I promise you that you'll be walking here tomorrow or taking the...public bus.
"Shut up." I punched as we climbed out her red Lamborghini.
We walked into our first period class, which was English, and were chatting idly with the other students until Mr. Smith came in and started rapping his ruler on his desk to get oour class attention.
"Good morning, students," Mr. Smith's brisk voice rang out through the room. "Today we have 2 new students. Please don't scare them away. Introduce yourselves."
"Hello ladies. I'm Trevon and this is my buddy Blaze. I just want to let you ladies know that we're both single, but Blaze here isn't a ladies man as I am.
All the girls immediately swooned except for Akila and I mainly because I was focused on drawing the panda bear I've been working on since the beginning of homeroom. I for one had no interest in guys when my 'borrowed' heart was going to be taken away in 17 days. I glanced up at the two newcomers. The one who had been doing all the talking had pale, blond hair with bright, green eyes and seemed enthusiastic and vigorous. His friend, on the other hand, made no effort to look like he wanted to be here. He had a scowl on his face that was framed with his jet black hair, but what caught my attention most were his striking blue eyes that looked as if they were pools of water.
The instant I looked at him, his blue eyes focused on me and the strangest thing happened. My heart started beating like crazy as if staring into his eyes caused a chemical reaction. I quickly glanced away and my heart finally slowed down.
"Okay wise guy. Since you seem to be such the ladies man, why don't i give you the pleasure to sit in the front row where you can enlighten me with your charms. And you, Blaze, can sit in the back behind Labyrinth.
"Oh God," I mutter under my breath as Blaze walked down the aisle to the empty seat behind me.
"What's wrong?" Akila asked. "Aren't you happy to have a hot guy sit behind you. Girl, I'm starting to wonder if you are a lesbo."
I giggle. "What the hell are you talking about" I respond. "I'm not a lesbo. I just feel uneasy around him."
"Well you better get used to him because he's about to be sitting behind you for a long time."
17 days to be exact.
Finally Blaze arrives at his desk, puts his hood over his head, and lies his head on the desk.
"Hey." Akila swerves around toward toward him. "I'm Akila and this is my bestie, Labyrinth. She's single and is looking for a boyfriend and I think that you would be the best choice for her."
She smiles waiting for an answer while I stare at her with my mouth hanging wide open.
Blaze slowly raises his head and locks his eyes directly onto hers.
"You're clearly mistaken. First of all you barely know me. Secondly I think it's her choice on who's perfect for her. Lastly I've seen old people who look better than her.” and with that he put his head down leaving both Akila and me speechless.
She quickly whipped out her cell phone and started tapping in a text. No one really cared for Mr. Smith's lesson because when you have powers you don't need to learn things like prepositions.
Bbbbbbbbbzzzzzzzzz.
My cell started vibrating in my pocket. I took it out and flipped it open to see Akila's message which said, "Rude."
I texted her back, I kno rite.
You are so totally not ugly. If you or I were a guy I would so totally date you.
Wow. Don't I feel special?
You should. Anyways he's so lucky that we were in class. If that were to happen at any time other than now, I would so kick him where the sun don't shine. He better watch it or he won't feel so hot now.
"So what are you doing here, ladies." Mr. Smith hovered over our desks. "Hand them over and you can get them back after detention with me."
Akila groaned while the other kids laughed. Getting detention with Mr. Smith was a complete torture. He made you dust and polish his room the whole time you're there. He walked away and continued his lesson on prepositional phrases. We spent the rest of the period bummed and silent.
"-so when writing a prepositional phrase-" RRRRRIIIIINNNNNNNGGGGGGGG.
The students stampede out of the classroom when the bell finally rang. I glanced behind me to see if that guy was still there, but he had already gone with the rest.
"Are you coming?" Akila asked. I nodded and we walked to the field outside out school for Power Control class.
"Okay students." Ms. Merry squealed as we arrived. She was in a good mood as always and started talking about today's assignment. I soon lost attention and my eyes started drifting around the field.
I always like this area since it was full of plants and was always a peaceful place to be to just relax and think. My head dropped back and I saw those piercing blue eyes again. At that moment, my heart started beating out of control. I tried looking away, but it was as if some invisible force was keeping my eyes on him. The intensity of my heart beats made my chest hurt and made it harder and harder for me to breathe.
At last he looked away, and my heartbeat slowed and my breath came back. I brought my head forward only to see everyone walking away in different directions. I stood there confused until Akila roughly grabbed my hand and led me to a corner of the fence that surrounded the field.
I was a little bit lost on why she was acting rough with me, but when I saw to whom she was heading toward I instantly understood.
