~Emma's POV~

The cool breeze and night sky was very peaceful compared to the yelling and torture of my house. No one will ever understand how I felt the day my first foster mom showed me the article and my 'Emma' blanket.

~Flashback~

I was 5 years old and could barley reach anything in the house, my foster parents took care of the other 5 children more than even thinking about me. I got used to all the alone time with just me and the old but rustic atmosphere. But today something was very different, something important was bound to happen.

"Emma, can you come into here for a minute" Avery (my foster mom) yelled from the dining room," I have something to tell you"

I was kind of confused by that, because everyone in that house didn't even notice me, but I went along with it.

"Sure", I said as I rushed into the dining room, climbing up my chair,"What do you need Ms. Avery?"

"Do you remember the story that I told you about how you got here?", Avery said slowly

"Of course, you told me that my parents were crossing the road and they accidentally forgot my stroller on the other side, so they both rushed back and in doing so they were run over", I claimed while trying to remember the rest of the story," But then you saw my stroller on the road in front your home and took me in."

"Well that was a lie", Avery blurted out

"WHAT. I HAVE BEEN LIVING A LIE FOR 5 YEARS", I screamed like a little kid having a temper tantrum

"Pretty much", she said silently

"Then what really happened Ms. Avery", I asked

"Well you were kinda found on the side of a highway in a blanket that said your name on it by a little boy. And you were in the newspaper. Luckily I saved it for you and I also saved your blanket", she said while handing me a soft yarn blanket with the name 'Emma' sown in magenta string, and an old and crumpled newspaper article that was headed with "NEWBORN BABY FOUND ON HIGHWAY".

"Well thats a lot to take in", I said while slinking away with a blanket and a piece of a newspaper.

~End of Flashback~

The night sky grew darker and darker till I couldn't see my feet until I bumped into something and just fell.

~KIllians POV~

"SWAN ARE YOU OKAY", I yelled, "I didn't see you there"

"Yea I'm fine" she said while she got up while rubbing her head.

"Why were you out here so late?"

"I kinda ran away from my adopt... I MEAN i just ran away from my PARENTS", she said nervously

"Wait you are adopted.... Why didn't you tell me", I said with excitement in my voice," I was in the foster system for twelve years until I was adopted and moved to this place.

" Wait really", she said while looking confused

"Yea my parents died when I was a newborn and my aunt and uncle 'weren't ready' for a child" I said seeming way too confident

"Well my parents left me on the side of a highway right after I was born..." she said seeming a bit out of her comfort zone

"Well I guess that is one more thing we have in common love"
