Socks and Ruby's Journey [Crazystarthunderclan's Contest 1]

Prologue [Socks]

(A couple of moons ago) Sock curled against the fire. He was with his sister, Ruby. His other littermate, Tiny, was sitting neglected on the other side of the room. Sock sneered, "Hey Tiny! The twolegs are coming, and they aren't going to pick you! Why? Because Tiny, you're too Tiny!" He watched as his littermate scowl and turn his back to him. "But wait! What do they do with an unwanted kitten like you? Throw you into the river, that's what!" Then he resumed into cleaning himself. 

The twolegs had come. Sock looked around, wondering, where was Tiny. He shrugged. It didn't matter, Tiny was useless. No twolegs wanted him. A pair of twolegs spotted, him and chattered in excited voices. This was it! He was about to be picked! He held his head high, and licked the twolegs ankles in a friendly manner. They let out a piercing scream of happiness, then gestured toward him and Ruby. He was picked up, and given to them. One of the twolegs, the one that picked him up, had black frames around his kind blue eyes. Above his eyes was a mass of white fur. The twoleg moved gingerly, as if the bones in his body were broken. But, Sock and his sister could sense the kindness in his eyes. He purred, and licked the man's face. The man laughed, and spoke something. Then he picked up Sock, and they exited the place he had called home for many moons. 

The pair of twolegs brought Ruby and Sock to a strange beast. The pulled out a strange button, and when the clicked it, the beast gave a growl. Sock winced. The twoleg stroked his fur, before opening the beast. Sock blinked, how could he do that? Ruby whispered, "This is it Sock! A chance at a new life, with lots of food and comfort." Sock nodded, "Too bad Tiny wasn't here." Ruby shrugged, "Well, he was tiny. He wouldn't have been picked anyway." As the two littermates nodded, they failed to know that their littermate Tiny was somewhere in the forest, building his hate for the world and everything in it. Including his littermates, Sock and Ruby.
