Kise x Reader [Kuroko no Basuke]

"Ryouta-kun!"

"Huh?"

With a plop, an object was placed on the 6-year old's head. Curious, the yellow-haired boy took the object from his head and into his hands.

"... A flower crown!" He exclaimed. The (h/c)-haired girl, who was sitting next to him, beamed.

"Yep! Happy birthday, Ryouta-kun!"

To this, the boy grinned and placed the white crown back onto his head. However, his smile quickly melted when he realized that his friend didn't have one.

"You don't have one?" The child inquired. She shook her head.

"I was busy making one for you," she responded, smiling.

"Then I'm going to make one for you!" He declared, and immediately plucked the white flowers from the grassy meadow. But being the clumsy boy he is, the flowers got caught in his hands and the structure collapsed.

The girl laughed and smoothed down her (f/c) dress. "Here, let me help," she said, and plucked a few flowers of her own. "So you hold this flower here, this one here, and you loop it around like this..."

"Loop it around..." The yellow-haired boy muttered, desperately trying to keep up. However, the flowers got tangled between his fingers yet again. "Aaaaauuughh!!" He exclaimed, and threw the flowers in frustration. The young girl laughed.

"Don't forget, I'll definitely make one for you!" The boy announced, his yellow eyes flashing with determination.

The (e/c)-colored girl smiled and nodded. "Okay, Ryouta-kun," she said.

"Kise! Oi, Kise!"

*whack* "Ow!"

"What was that, senpai!?" Kise complained, rubbing the spot on his head.

Kasamatsu huffed and picked up the basketball he threw at Kise. "Serves you right, you were staring off into space," he retorted, then turned his back toward the yellow-haired basketball player.

"Practice is over. Come on, we're leaving," he said. "Are you coming or not?"

"Oh. U-uh yes!" Kise replied, then ran to catch up to his basketball captain. As he walked alongside Kasamatsu, a sudden thought came to him.

"Senpai, what day is it today?" He asked.

"It's Friday... Why?" Kasamatsu replied, a puzzled look on his face. Upon hearing the date, the yellow-haired face paled.

"It's Friday!? Ahhhh!!!" And in a blink of an eye, Kise was gone, into the locker room. In another blink, the tall male was speeding out of the gym doors, already changed into his school uniform.

"What the heck...?" Kasamatsu muttered, his mouth agape.

The soft breeze danced through the grass, making them dance. Your (h/l) (h/c)hair also flowed to the melody of the wind. White, fluffy clouds lazily puffed their way across the endless blue sky. Laughters from small children playing could be heard from across the meadow.

"So nostalgic..." You murmured, a small smile curving across your lips.

"(Y/N)-cchi!!!!!" A loud voice suddenly broke your peace. You quickly turned. A yellow haired teen in a gray school uniform was running toward you in a maddening speed. Once reached, he stopped and panted heavily, trying to catch his breath.

"Ryo-ryouta-kun!?" You exclaimed, bewildered. How could the small boy you had known turn into this tall male? But when he raised his head and locked eyes with you, you could see the childish nature from the past still lingering in his golden orbs. There was no mistaking it, this was the Kise Ryouta you knew since you were a child. The model smiled.

"Long time no see, (Y/N)-cchi... How long? 10 years" he asked. You nodded and smiled back.

"Yep, 10 years... Time flies, huh? How have you been?" You asked.

"I'm doing good! I'm going to Kaijou High right now! I started basketball in middle school, and..."

You two sat in the small, grassy field, talking and laughing- just like the old times. From when you were little, this time of peace and happiness was one of your favorites. And being able to spend time with your best friend again made you very happy. But time flew by quickly, and before you knew it, the sky began to darken.

"Oh... I have to go back, Ryouta-kun..." You said a bit sadly, getting up to leave.

"... (Y/N)-cchi, wait!"

"Huh?"

With a plop, an object was placed on your head. You curiously took the object from your head and into your hands.

"... A flower crown?" You fingered the small white flowers. Kise grinned.

"I promised you, didn't I? That I'd make you one someday!"

Then it hit you. The day before you left this town, you had made him a flower crown. And he promised to make you one someday.

He actually remembered? Your lips twitched, then curved into a smile.

After ten years, coming back to this place, meeting an old friend, and fulfilling an old promise...

It's good to be back.

"Thank you, Ryouta-kun," you said with a gentle smile. Kise smiled. The next thing you knew, you were enveloped in a hug. You could feel warmth emanating from his body, and you breathed in his sweet smell.

"You're welcome, (Y/N)-cchi," he said, smiling.
