Chapter 3

Tristan's P.O.V.

I just heard from Farmer Jennifer that her niece just came. Something about her just rang trouble. I knew those type of girls. All rich and girly. I wondered why she even wanted to come here. Oh that's right! Because she's a spoiled brat and Jennifer had to snap her out of all that bling bling. Well, as long as she doesn't annoy me, I was okay with it.

''Tristan?'' I heard Hayley's voice shouting my name from her bedroom window since I was directly beneath her room. Ever since that Kayla girl moved in, those girls had been laughing about just the silliest stuff. I'll never get girls.

''Yes?'' I shouted back. I could hear a thump and then another shout from Hayley. ''Come up here you sulk!'' Hayley had always been like my little sister. Mostly I was raised here because Jennifer found me at the road side holding a teddy bear when I was four. And so she raised me up and at the same time I had to take care of the farm. Then when Hayley came along, I had to take care of her which sucked since I wasn't even her brother.

I went upstairs and to Hayley and Kayla's room. Honestly, even I had a room which was far more neater than those two girls. ''What is it that you Hayley had to call me up to your little messy room?'' I saw Hayley sitting on the upper part of the bunk bed with her legs dangling. As for Kayla, she was lying on the lower part of the bunk bed. Looks like she changed her clothes before she gets involved with mud.

''Hey, Tris. This is Kayla. She's my cousin. And she'll be staying over. What's more is that mom told you to take care of her and you're in charge of her duties on the farm.'' Hayley said. In charge of Kayla? What could she do? I bet she never even touch a horse before.

''Okay. Kayla, follow me.''

Kayla's P.O.V.

Obviously Tristan didn't like me. He didn't smile ever since he saw me. I saw him smiling when he saw Hayley! Maybe he liked her? Why do I feel so sad about that? Didn't I had a perfect boyfriend back at home who treated me like a princess?

''Hey! Stop day dreaming! We're here. Since you're new, I'm gonna give you an easy job. Your job is to make sure all the horses has hay to eat. If they don't, just give them some. Easy as pie.'' with that, Tristan left me to my job. Some gentleman.

There were five horses there. Well, four with names but the last one which was brown, didn't have a name. Maybe I could name it...Ruby? Pearl? Emerald? Sparkle. Yeah, I like that name. Sparkle. There was a black one named Rubean and a white one named Crystal. And a brown with a little black, Destiny. And the other white one, Rose.

Somehow the only one who didn't had hay was Sparkle! After making sure all of them had enough, I went back to the house. There in the living room, Aunty Jennifer, Hayley and Tristan were sitting down watching some movie on television.

''You done?'' Tristan asked and I nodded before going up to change into my jeans with purple top. If I can't wear anything 'bling bling' according to Aunty, I guess jeans were okay. I mean, what else do I have?!?!

When I came down, to my surprise, all of them ate dinner without me and were finished. I can't believe this! The first night and I already missed dinner! I went to the horse stable and sat at the place nearest to Sparkle.

''Hey, new girl.'' I looked up and there standing was a boy who looks about ten holding a apple for me.

''For me?''

He nodded and sat down beside me. ''Why are you crying?''

''Oh, I'm just...nothing. I just miss my family.''

''If you lonely, I be your friend.'' and he fell asleep on my shoulder.
