Efflorescence

chapter five

"So now you're the one replacing me? And here I thought it would be us till the end, Sapph." Maribell said, pretending to be hurt.

"Sorry, Mar. You have Wyatt, I have Sapphire. Fair trade." Aiden teased, scooting over on the girls' brand new couch, making room for Maribell to sit.

Maribell rolled her eyes and sat down with the kettle corn, "Fuck you, Aiden." she snarled.

"No, fuck Wyatt." he whispered sending a wink her way. Everyone had been teasing her and Wyatt ever since they were caught during their make out session in the kitchen earlier that day.

The group's day consisted of furniture shopping and building, hitting the local grocery store, and ordering pizza.

They all decided to watch a movie together and eat some popcorn before the boys left. They were currently watching Maribell and Sapphire's favorite movie, LOL.

Sapphire was cuddled up with Oliver on her left and Aiden on her right. Who would've thought that the three boys and two girls would hit it off the way they did?

Wyatt and Maribell had their little thing going on, Aiden and Sapphire were becoming good friends, and Oliver and Sapphire had their "thing". They were all surprisingly having fun.

Well, Sapphire and Maribell were having fun. Apparently, the boys hated the movie and were only there because of the girls.

Oliver's hand was gripping Sapphire's left thigh, Aiden's arm curled around Sapphire's waist, and Maribell's legs draped over Wyatt's. They all seemed comfortable, so they just stayed as is.

That is, until Aiden stood up and smirked almost devil-like. "Get up fuckers. You girls-" he said pointing to Maribell and Sapphire, "-are going to your first LA party."

"First, you steal my best friend, and now you're trying to drag me to a party? Why are you trying to ruin my life, Aiden?" Maribell whined, sinking into the corner of the couch.

"Today's been a productive day, moving into your new apartment. Now, let's go have a night on the town." he replied firmly, looking over mostly at Sapphire.

She was going to have to leave her apartment eventually and do something fun, might as well be tonight.

After all, she did come to LA for an adventure.

"I'll go. I need to change my clothes first though." she said, knowing she probably wouldn't have tons of fun.

Maribell snapped her head in Sapphire's direction with wide eyes, and asked in disbelief, "You want to go to a party?"

She shrugged in response and said, "I said I wanted to go on adventures, didn't I? Here's my oppurtunity I guess."

Maribell sighed, dragging her hand down her face, "Alright, fine. I'm gonna go change too then."

The two both peeled themselves off of the couch and ran off to their rooms to change.

Sapphire decided whether she wanted to put effort into her outfit or not. She went with the former, wearing a pair of high waisted black skinny jeans with slits in the knees, a charcoal gray ribbed crop top with a black lace bralette that peeked out the bottom of the top, and some black chelsea boots that had a slight heel.

She wasn't the type to wear all dark colored outfits, but she was just full of surprises on this night.

On the other hand, Maribell was definitely one to wear an all black outfit. Her outfit consisted of black high waisted skinny jeans, a black cropped tank top with a high neck line, and a slightly over sized distressed black leather jacket. To top it off she had a pair of chunky black platform heels.
