September 1st, 1997
Caleb played with his best friend Bruce, he was left unattended by his mother who had taken him to the Playzone while his dad worked, he and his mother had an off-day since the day was Labor Day. His mother was his science teacher.
"Yeah, like, look at my mother over there! Just talking on her phone, not even caring!" Caleb scoffed as he threw a basketball through the hoop on the machine. "Yeah, she's so irresponsible, why don't you tell your father?" Bruce, his best friend, suggested as Caleb shook his head "No it wouldn't work, he doesn't listen, he's too busy trying to save up for my baby brother born 5-ish months ago. Sadly he was born prematurely due to something my mom caused." Caleb sighed as Bruce nodded.
"Thats cool you have a little brother, whats his name?" Bruce asked, "I'm naming him Ethan, even though Momma wants to name him Bennett, like I dont want to have a brother with the nickname Benny, it just doesn't fit him" Caleb said as they explored around, entering the "Charles & Kane's Reading Room" to see what new stories were available since Caleb got a letter in the mail that they had a new story.
Caleb and Bruce got a bag of popcorn and a strawberry-blue rasberry mix of cotton candy, they looked through the bookshelf, finding the new book, slowly munching through their food. They grabbed two books and sat down, reading through it.
After they finished eating the popcorn and cotton candy. They saw Charles watching them, Caleb found it creepy.
"Come over here so I can read it for you!" Kane the Storyteller robot said, Bruce nodded, looking at Caleb, and brought the book over. Caleb sat back at the table while Kane took the book from Bruce and opened it.
They listened as Kane read the story to them. After 5 minutes, he finished. Kane stood up from his chair, opening his torso as the claw came out, wrapping around Bruce and dragged him in. Caleb gasped, watching as his friend got dragged inside the robot's torso, screaming. "Get Caleb" Kane commanded to Charles, as Charles nodded, getting up from his seat. When Caleb ran for the door, it was electronically locked and the curtains were closed. He turned around hearing the robot's footsteps, Charles opened his torso, and the claw wrapped around him tightly. Caleb screamed and tried to put up a fight as he got taken into the torso.
He was knocked unconscious with a sleep gas. "Night-Night" He last heard Charles say as a music box played.
When Caleb awoke, he was lying on a bunk bed. Someone was checking his pulse, commenting on his condition to another doctor. They took his blood, and was writing stuff down. The doctors left him and Bruce alone in the room for over 3 days, feeding them breakfast lunch and dinner.
Bruce and Caleb were allowed to use the bathroom whenever they asked nicely. After 4 days they were tested with melatonin, then after a week they were tested with sleep aid. All of them in different flavors; Chamomile Honey, Mixed Berry, Strawberry, Cherry, Cherry Vanilla, Raspberry, chamomile and Lavender, blueberry, peach, and watermelon.

Caleb learned the names of the ones they tossed, and the ones they marketed after week 2 had passed. The ones they marketed were the ones he wrote down.
Caleb woke up in a hospital room, hearing his dad yelling at his mom and his little brother crying.
