Caleb sighed it was his little brother's birthday, and his parents were celebrating Ethan for doing a year without needing a low profile g-tube.
They had ruined Ethan's 8th birthday party last year by taking out his G-tube on his birthday so he couldn't eat anything because he was afraid of ruining the healing process, but it was his mom's stupid decision.
Caleb sighed, patting his little brother on his head. His little brother was still 3'6", he should've been growing, but Caleb assumed Ethan had a stunted growth. Maybe all the babying bullshit mom is putting Ethan through is causing him to stop growing? Maybe he's mentally traumatized by our mom infantilizing him that he just stopped growing?" Caleb assumed, shaking his head annoyed, if that thought were true, it would explain a lot.
Caleb told Ethan to stay put as he went to go use the bathroom.
Ethan knew his brother told him to stay, but he saw the Charles the Storyteller robot, beckoning him to come over. "Go on honey! The robot wants to talk to you!" His mom said, baby-talking him.
Ethan was grabbed harshly by his mom and she brought him over greeting the robot and asked for 1 book to keep her son occupied. His mom abandoned him there, while she went back to her table. Ethan saw the robot hand him one book. It was called "Charles Numbering System" It was a math book for kids his age, but he didn't understand it. He sat down at the kid's table and read it, softly crying. He looked at the Ursa watch on his wrist, seeing the blue dot glowing, when he looked up, he saw Charles had gotten him a cotton candy. Ethan got up and reluctantly took it, wiping his tears. Suddenly the claw grabbed him and yanked him in, he dropped his cotton candy. He couldn't even scream, he was having an asthma attack, but his inhaler was left with his mom because she said "he would lose money if he lost it"
His mom loved money more than him. Ethan passed out from a sleep gas.
Ethan awoke as he heard his brother yelling at someone, it was the manager. "We are sorry your autistic brother was left alone and taken by the robot, that programming shouldn't have been inside the robot. We'll give you a full refund!"
Ethan immediately called out for his brother, and got picked up tightly "You're shaking like a leaf Ethan, calm down, it's okay I got you" Caleb said, trying to calm him down, but Ethan started crying. "We're leaving Ethan" Caleb whispered as he left the playzone with his father and mother, still carrying Ethan. He heard his mother and father got into another argument while they were driving back.
