“Perfection is a distorted image, created by an hourglass. Stand up straight with your head held high, see how long you can last.

A dazzling smile yells to the world, "Look at me, I'm okay!"and in this twisted dream, you think, "I feel the exact same way!"

No blemish scrapes your cheek, you never shed a tear. Two sparkling eyes whisper, "Everything gets harder from her

What stands in the mirror is a beautiful lady, ready to take on the world

But what she sees is a terribly misfigured, ugly imperfect girl.”

Chapter one

"Oh, I just figured you would already know what that meant." She stuttered.  She thought the strange man would know what Memphis May Fire was.

"Erm..sorry." He replied back awkwardly. He reached up to his neck and grabbed a hold of his tie. He slowly adjusted the tie back and forth. Clearing his throat he asked,"Did you find him, yet?"

She stopped. Dropping the glass on the table, surprised it did break.

"Erm..no." She replied back. She knew the question about her mate would come up soon but she hadn't expect it to come up within the first 3 minutes of their conversation.

Why do guys do this, she thought.

She rolled her eyes and said to the alpha male

"But I don't plan on finding him anytime soon." She lied. Oh how she wanted to. To feel that love and comfort from her mate. She felt her heart clench at the thought.

"Father, could we please leave now. He clearly isn't here. I would have felt the pull." She said, clearly annoyed. He turned and glared.

"You know that you must have a mate before the full moon." He sneered.

"Daddy, he isn't here. Let’s go, I can't stand here and pretend like these alphas have a chance. It's so wrong." She begged. He continued to ignore her. His patience level has gone down and he was so close to losing it. He would never hit his baby girl but sometimes it was as if she wanted him to go slap the living crap out of her.

"No. If you don't find one by the end of tonight, I will choose your mate for you."

She gasped. No no no. Daddy no. You can't, please. She chanted in her head. She felt tears gather in her eyes. She felt her heart clench at the just the thought of having her father choose a mate for her. She wanted her mate, her true mate. The one that she’s suppose to love unconditionally, care for, and support.

Her wolf whimpered.

“Daddy, no. Please you can’t. That isn’t fair!” she cried.

“You know what will happen if you don’t find a mate by the end of the night.” He sneered at her.

“But daddy! It isn’t my fault. Mother didn’t-“ she began.

“SHUT UP. DON’T SPEAK OF YOUR MOTHER.” He bared his teeth at her, growling.

The subject of her mother was still sore. How could he possible blame her? It just wasn’t her fault.

“Yes, daddy.” She bowed her head.

“Now, don’t you dare start crying, you will ruin your face. You better hope that your mate is here or that you have a decent alpha to play his part.” He said. He slowly adjusted his suit and tie, walking out with a smile, back into the crowd.

She was like a porcelain doll. A blank expression was glued onto her face while countless emotions brewed inside of her. She was just waiting for her top layer to shatter and let all her despair and hopelessness ooze out of
