Cecelia Rose

Today was the day when I finally realized no one was coming back for me. They all left me here to just suffer then die. What else could possibly go wrong? I mean I'm already stranded in the middle of a ghost town full of manikins, but they promised they would come back for me in four days. It has been two weeks and I am still here laying on this hard, plastic bed, bleeding out.

"Honey?" I heard a faint call in the distance.

"Mom?" I called back. I heard footsteps silently in the background. This can't be real. Mom's dead. She died two years ago with the rest of my family. "Momma?" I called again.

"I'm surely not your Momma hun, but I am here to take you home," replied a lady with snow-white hair. She didn't seem to have any wrinkles. Her hair was just white. Other than that she looked pretty young, but what did she mean by home? My home was destroyed two years ago along with my family. There is no way she can take me home. There is no home to go to.

"I'm Cecelia Rose," she said, finally breaking the silence.

"Wren," I replied. Cecelia quickly wrapped my arm around her neck, and tried to help me walk out the door. I winced at the sharp pain in my leg. She looked down at my leg and quickly sat me back down on the plastic bed. She walked out the door and came back with a small piece of wood in her pale little hand. Cecelia put the piece of wood next to my leg then opened her messenger bag, and then struggled to find the tape to wrap my leg with. Finally she held out the tape.

"There you are," she whispered to the tape that has been playing hide n' seek in her bag for at least five minutes. She tapped the piece of wood to my broken leg. I squeezed a manikins hand in order for me to not kick this lady in the face. Again, she wrapped my arm around her neck and helped me out the door.

"So. Where are we headed," I asked

    "Home, hun."

    "Where exactly is home?"

"My place of course. You are an orphan now hunny and I am sure that you have no other choice than my place." She was right. I was an orphan now. No where to go. Except for her place that is. I barely even know this woman though. She could kidnap me. What am I saying? How could I be kidnapped anyway. I have no family anymore. I belong to anyone. I'm all alone. Except for Miss Cecelia Rose.
