What If?

What if we never died?
What if we never cried?
What if we had no emotions or feelings inside?
What if everything they told us was a lie?
What if the world isn't round but flat or square?
What if slavery was a myth?
What if the twin towers didn't really get hit?
What if Sandra Bland didn't commit suicide?
What if Mike Brown didn't try to run?
What if Trayvon did have a gun?
What if fathers would stop disowning their sons?
What if black lives didn't matter?
What if they were the slaves and we the slave masters?
What if we stopped worshipping celebrities and worshipped the one who really cares?
What if life wasn't filled with misery and tragedy?
What if we planned our actions more carefully?
What if there was no poverty?
What if we treated each other equally?
If you had one wish I bet you'd wish for money,
But what if money is an illusion, like the movies on your television?
What if Martin didn't have a dream?
What if X wasn't necessary by any means?
What if Rosa got off the bus?
What if we knew more famous Jamaicans other than Bolt and Marley?
What if we were actually taught black history?
What if no one gives a damn about Ghandi?
What if Google didn't call me gorilla?
And Hulk Hogan nigger.
All these "what ifs" but we already know the answer,
So what if we stopped procrastinating and do what's necessary?
What if? What if? Just maybe.
