Chapter 33

He spoke.

That's all Levi could muster to think as he stared at the smiling brunette in front of him. And holy shit was Levi simultaneously terrified, ecstatic, and excited for a different reason.

Eren continued looked at him, waiting for a response and getting discouraged when he wasn't getting one. Why wasn't he answering? Did Levi not like him back? Was Eren misreading everything this whole time? Shit...

"Levi?" Eren's rough voice sounded more broken than it should have. Dread sunk in. He had fucked up. "I'm sorry. Did I say the wrong thing-?"

Levi pulled him into his arms tightly. "You said the absolutely fucking wrong thing." He held Eren tighter in his arms. What was he doing? He should be walking out of this brat's life or telling him he didn't feel the same way. But if he did that then he would be an absolute fucking liar. And the fact this brat actually spoke to him made it so much more special. "But like I give a shit." God his voice was beautiful. How could he even talk? He must talk in private to keep his voice still usable.

"That doesn't make sense. Levi whats wrong?" Truth is Eren was enjoying how close Levi was holding him but he was still so confused.

"It's complicated." He pulled away and looked at him. "How long have you been trying to tell me this?"

"Since you kicked Joey's ass. Something just clicked. I knew..." Eren blushed. "I knew you'd protect me. That you'd never hurt me." He looked down, afraid of how Levi was going to respond. Eren knew deep down that he still had feelings for his ex-boyfriend, Erwin Smith. Levi has told him practically every aspect of their former relationship and Eren could understand why you wouldn't want to let go of that. At the same time he was jealous of Levi and what he had. He never had that with Joey. He probably had a good month with Joey before he became controlling and even the month they had was less than romantic. But Eren couldn't have been picky. He didn't have a reason to be since he was the one who would never actually voice his opinion and feelings. But he assumed that even if he did he wouldn't get anywhere with the asshole. 

"I'm flattered that...you told me. It changes some things." 

Eren perked back up only to be deflated again when he looked at Levi.  There was obvious conflict going on in those stone-cold gray eyes. Whether it was good or bad? Well...that was to be determined. 

And a conflict there was in Levi. Things just got a fuck ton more complicated to him. He was flattered that the brat had worked up the courage to speak to him about it but it made the raven-haired teen that much more guilty. He wanted to tell Eren "yes, I like you too. Wanna fucking date?" but at the same time he wanted to shoot him down. But shooting him down would make Levi a MAJOR asshole and probably result in Mikasa hunting him down and kicking his ass into the next century. 

"Levi?" 

He sighed. We'll try this out then. 

"I like you too Eren. I'm flattered that you opened your fucking mouth to tell me." Well ouch. Wasn't that a little rude Levi? Where have your manners gone? Wait...what manners? 

Eren brightened up to a level Levi sweared the Sun in the sky couldn't rival. His eyes practically glowed. "So would you go on a date with me? I mean, we don't need to rush into things but a date would be nice." 

Levi let out barely a laugh. "Okay brat. Deal." 

Eren jumped and wrapped his arms around Levi's neck, pulling him into a kiss that shocked both of them. Levi had to wrap his fingers around Eren's waist to keep him from pushing them both off the couch. 

Neither of them pulled away from the kiss. It felt like electricity was crackling between them. There was no fighting for dominance but mere happiness and curiosity. If anything Eren clung to Levi and kept the kiss going, as if afraid to pull away. They both had been waiting way too long to kiss each other again. And the fist kiss they shared was so light it could be called only a whisper compared to the closeness this one had. There was still an innocence along with the "electricity". All in all it was very enjoyable. 

Levi managed to push Eren away in order to breath, noticing the spark in Eren's eyes. Yeah no kid. Not today. 

"Why don't we watch a movie?" 

Eren blinked rapidly, bringing himself back to the present, and smiled. 

"Sure."
