WOOZI thought she was brave; in her words, she called herself 'stupid'. She patted her cast and just chuckled half heartedly after he called her brave.
"I don't think so, hyung." His head tilted to the side, making him look even more like a puppy-marshmallow. "Why not? Your crappy friends put you up to do something horrible and you were mugged and you could've had your whole life in a cast yet here you are; looking cute and at a café with me at midnight."
Her cheeks began to redden but not to her realization. "They're not crappy," she lied.
"And I'm not cute, okay? I am a dragon of darkness that feeds and instills fear in the hearts of men. I am a parasite, sucking the life out of every living thing and into the cosmic void of a black hole. I am the King of Hell."
He giggled at the short girl. "But you're a girl!" And Lee Jihoon immediately regretted it when her expression turned dark. Her eyes darkened and narrowed as her nails drummed against the cold cast iron of the table.
"I am a King, Lee Jihoon," her voice boomed. "I should not be questioned." Woozi nodded a bit nervously but happily. This gave him the opportunity to treat her. He wanted the best for his er, King.
She gave a general nod and turned her DSi off. "Kasutera, my noble liege?" The pink-haired boy grinned. "Of course, my King." Ja mirrored his actions, making his teeth even appear.
They finally ordered kasutera with some tea. She rubbed her hands together when Jihoon returned with the tray. "Thanks, bro! This is great!" She squealed in English, earning a chuckle from the boy.
With her free hand, she flicked tiny scoops of the spongey bread into her mouth. Lee Jihoon swallowed and sophisticatedly snipped the bread into squares. He felt a bit bad for feeling so uptight around her but to her, opinions obviously didn't matter.
"So," Ja declared with spongey cake still in her mouth., spitting a few crumbs in the process. "How's being a nurse? Is it fun? Is it cool? Tell me, boy." He blushed and unbuttoned his coat.
The boy cleared his throat. "It's pretty cool. I like helping people and making them feel better." She swallowed down some tea and uttered, "Then, be a doctor!"
The café quieted down to only the two's breathing. The city lights scaled through the blinds of the large windows. "That'd be great but you see, I've - I've made other plans." She dropped the kasutera onto her plate.
"This isn't really what you want to do? Kid, tell me!" He exhaled a bit. Jihoon couldn't look away from her because her stare literally demanded eye contact. "I want to be a nurse, yes, but in the U.K." She quickly visualized him with some glasses, his blue scrubs, and a big smile. Why didn't he seem happy about this?
"Why aren't you happy, Lee Jihoon?" Ja questioned and he reached for his cup but she intercepted. "Spit it out or fight me." She threatened.
He smiled half-heartedly. "Because I've already made a promise." She felt hungry suddenly.
"What promise, kid? You gotta keep promises. By the way, are you going to eat that?" He glanced nervously at her and passed his plate to her. She impaled her fork into it and took small bites from the bread.
Jihoon ran his fingers through his silky hair. "Yeah, I guess you're right and I made a promise to my g-g-girlfriend." He stuttered and watched Ja's reaction to only nod and chew her spongey cake calmly.
