Cassie looked into Daniel's eyes. Shock and disbelief flowed through them as he saw the red blossomed on her thin t shirt. She slowly started to sink to the ground clutching the wound on her chest.
Everything was fine until a moment ago. Then the deal went south. Cassie was stabbed and Daniel was frozen on his feet. The masked killer took off, running out of the alley leaving Daniel to watch his only sister die.
Daniel should have protected Cassie. He should be the one on the ground not her. Not his little sister who was only 14. She had so much ahead of her. He had no future worth living for. Finally Daniel remembered how to move and he held his sisters head as her world went dark.
The knife punctured a lung. There was no coming back from this, only death. Daniel rocked her back and forth as she slipped from this world. All to soon she stopped breathing leaving her brother all alone.
She was gone. Daniel's only reason for living was gone. She was murdered and the killer got away. He wiped the tears streaming from the brown eyes him and his sister shared. Well, once shared.
"I will find them Cassie, and when I do they will pay for takin everything away from you".
