Lisa stood by the door, her arms crossed tightly over her chest as she looked at her mother—frail, bruised, and silent on the bed. Her face was partially covered in bandages, and her eyes shimmered with unshed tears. Seri, standing beside the hospital bed, turned to Lisa with gentle eyes.

Seri: Lisa, come closer.

She urged softly, gesturing toward the bed. Lisa shook her head slowly, her voice cool and composed, but with a sharp edge of pain beneath it.

Lisa: No, Seri. I'm only here to tell her that I've forgiven her.

Her eyes flicked to her mother.

Lisa: But if you're expecting me to care for her, to nurse her back to health, I won't. I can't.

Seri's eyes widened slightly, her brows pulling together in disapproval.

Seri: Lisa, don't say that. It's sinful for a daughter to speak that way—

Lisa's lips curled into a bitter, almost sad smile.

Lisa: If there's any sin here, it won't be mine, Seri. It'll be hers.

She looked down at her mother, who was now trembling, tears slipping silently down her cheeks.

Lisa: But don't you worry. I'm willing to pay for all of your hospital bills. And I'll keep paying until you die.

Her words were cold, precise, and yet behind them was a deep, raw wound that hadn't healed for years. Lisa took one last glance at her mother—no longer a towering, manipulative figure but a broken, helpless woman—and then turned to leave.

As she stepped into the hospital corridor, the brightness of the white lights above did nothing to dull the storm inside her. But she halted in her tracks when a familiar figure appeared in front of her. Mr. Choi stood there.

Mr.Choi: Can we talk for a minute?

He said hesitantly. She folded her arms, clearly uninterested.
