It was months after Castiel fell. You and him had been "dating" since he fell. He had needed you desperately. You were there when he had to discover new emotions, new objects, new everything. You and him had visited his friends, the Winchesters, quite often, they were training you and him to be hunters. Castiel had been a good hunter when he was an angel, but now he wasn't as good. It took quite a while, but you and Castiel, or "Cas" as you called him, we're finally ready for your first hunt. It was just a demon, or so you thought. It turned out to be five demons, not one. You and Cas had each taken two out, you didn't know that there was another. You suddenly felt a sharp pain in your back, just below your ribs. Cas turned to you, and let out a shout, "No!" He quickly took care of the demon, and turned to you. You were crumpled on the floor, the blood pooling around you. Cas ignored the blood, and took you into his arms. His pain-filled baby blue eyes stared into yours, he put his fingers up to your temple, as if waiting for his grace to heal your wound. Then he remembered, he want an angel anymore. He couldn't heal you. You were gripping onto him for dear life, literally. "I'm so sorry, Y/N!" He cried, holding you tighter. Your vision was beginning to fade out, everything was going dark. You were tired, so tired. You wanted to close your eyes. You managed to say, "I love you, Castiel. I forgive you." It was the first time you had declared your love for him. You knew that if you didn't say that you forgave him, he would never forgive himself. He choked back a sob, "I love you, too" he wanted you to know that before you died, which you surely would, and soon. You smiled one last time, before the darkness of death took you. Cas let out a wail of pain, he had never experienced this pain before. It wasn't on the outside, he was hurting inside, his heart in particular. Cas eventually gained the strength to take you back the bunker, back to the Winchesters. Cas wouldn't eat, he wouldn't sleep. He only drank. He drank away the pain. He never hunted again,in fear that he would lose someone else too. When Castiel finally got his grace back, he checked on you in heaven. You were at peace, you were happy. You didn't have to worry about anything anymore. You were safe.
