Well at least it used to be my house... Tomoki pondered as he shared at the giant wooden... Boat?
It seemed an apt word for the huge construction that squatted on his land. Twin sails hung limp in the windless afternoon above proud masts. The front of the boat curved into a sculpture of Tomoki in all his glory. Not that he wasn't proud or anything, surely it was a sight to behold.
I bet the boys in the class are jealous of that length.
A small knocking sounded from the hull's interior as Ikaros flapped into the sky. Her hair was bound by ribbons, snaking down her back. She clutched a small hammer and a bag of nails, muttering nonsense under her breath.
"Um Ikaros, HEY IKAROS," Tomoki shouted, "Why, uh, why exactly is there a large boat where the house used to be??"
She glanced down, "Master! You've returned!"
She flew down to the ground, her armour bouncing lightly as she landed. "Weren't you saying last night that you wanted to sail the seas?"
"Was I, WAS I saying that I WANTED TO SAIL THE SEAS," he spluttered, "Under what circumstances would I have ever said such a fu- oh."
He scratched his head absentmindedly as he recalled that particular conversation.
"Ikaros, have you ever been out of Japan?"
"Many times. I used to fall to the bottom of the ocean often due to my inability to float."
"Wouldn't it be great to go overseas. To sail through the winds of adversity and prove that I can do more than be a lazy slob."
"I cannot say, sir."
"You're right, I'm perfect as is, case closed."
"IKAROS THAT CONVERSATION WAS NOT ABOUT SAILING IN THE OCEAN. It was about overcoming my obstacles and traveling the world."
"Oh no Master I have angered you, please let me fix it," Ikaros begged.
She held out one of her cards, allowed its light to shine over the boat. The vehicle quickly morphed back into his old house, complete with dirty dishes, laundry and his special magazine collection.
"Did you at least clean some of the house before you transformed it into a giant ship?" he asked.
"No."
"Didn't think so. Come my dear, we must pick your bikini for tomorrow. I think that it is the most wonderful occasion to show you off."
