Tomoki and Sohara sat around the low table that served as his dining table. Ikaros was still wrapped in slumber's deep embrace. The childhood pair had been sitting motionless for the past twenty minutes. Tomoki knew that is was fruitless to bear the heavy silence, but was loathe to make a sound.

Sohara suddenly sat up. It happened like a zombie resurrection. "This place is a mess," she commented, "I can't believe we'be been sitting around moping like someone took away our Internet! There's cleaning to do!"

Suddenly Tomoki liked the dead silence as he was forced to help Sohara with the daily chores. Mopping, washing, scrubbing, drying, vacuuming, mending, ironing and the most hated, cooking. Usually Sohara made two, but since they had the time, they made the whole week's worth to be reheated.

"Good morning."

Ikaros wandered down the rickety staircase, rubbing her pale eyes against the glare from the afternoon sun. Her long salmon hair was braided down her back using twin ribbons. Sohara's borrowed pajamas hung loosely over her cleavage, leaving the midriff bare. The white short shorts left just enough to the imagination.

"Ah, so our sleeping beauty awakes!" Sohara beamed, "You've been sleeping for the past twelve and half hours!"

The angeloid's vulnerability must have awakened some maternal instinct of Sohara's, Tomoki thought dryly.

"Sleeping?" Ikaros inquired, "No, angeloids are not permitted to have or observe dreams or slumber of any sort. That is a place for the natural, alone. May I ask though, who are you people?"

"Um, sorry?"

"You do speak in English?"

"Yes, but you know who we are. We had our introductions ages ago."

Ikaros cocked her head to the side in the habitual way she does. "No, I can't remember anything. All I know is that I'm a Pet Class angeloid. Second Generation. Ikaros."

"Are you sure? You told us differently beforehand."

Ikaros nodded. Confidence and knowledge hardened her eyes. "Though I'm sure we'll be great friends."

This won over Sohara, Tomoki was suspicious, something just didn't seem right.

"But first I must chose a new master," Ikaros clasped his hand in hers and said the phrase that would ruin Tomoki's peace and quiet forever. A metal collar clipped around her neck, a loose chain sneaked out out of the D-link and coiled around Tomoki's hand.

"I dub thee, Tomoki Sakurai. Master of angeloid number 101. To be in service and do whatever he desires. Forever yours in servitude."

...

"Well, I don't feel any different."

"You don't need to, my intricate computers have completed a full scan of the city, your body and the make-up of your brain. It has wired alarms, anti-spy ware, security cameras and satellite protection over your house," Ikaros clarified.

"That was awfully boring then, shouldn't there have been sparks flying, magic circles, chanting priests and ceremonial presents?" Tomoki complained.

"We don't do that anymore, that was just to convince people of our power. Nowadays, our prowess has grown so to not be worried, as we don't need humans anyway."

Tomoki glanced at the time. 6:30!? Already? he wondered how that could be. He sighed, at least he'd done all that cooking with Sohara, he didn't need to go do any more.

"Well, I suppose it's time for dinner then. Thank God that Sohara can actually cook food. Real edible food that isn't bread."

Ikaros clasped her hands together in a gesture of prayer, "I thank you lord, God that Sohara can cook real, edible food that isn't bread."

Tomoki looked at her with an expression of shock. Ikaros was taken aback and looked horrified. "Have I done something wrong, master?"

After a swift speechless moment, Tomoki broke out in a rare -- non perverted -- smile and ruffled the loose fringe that hadn't made it into the braids, "We'll work on it."

This made Ikaros morph back into the shy young girl again and relax. Sohara helped her understand cutlery and chopsticks. That peaceful moment made them feel as one big happy family.

*RING RING* *RING RING*

A clumsy hand slapped the alarm clock and rolled away from the offending noise and light peeping in through from the window.

"Tomo! Tomo! Do you intend to ignore your alarm!? Why even set one? All you ever do is put it on snooze!" Sohara called from her parallel window next door.

"Mumph."

"Master, do you intend to stay in bed today? Should I inform your school?" Ikaros asked from the doorway, "Sohara would probably want to know as well."

Tomoki sprung out of bed, startled. Then he suddenly remembered, that yesterday wasn't in fact a dream. A wave of disappointment washed over his --now clothed-- body. Then he noticed the angeloid. She was wearing some of Sohara's clothes. Emphasis on some. A thin lacy bra with matching undies and socks.

All of Tomoki's disappointment vanished in a second as he realized the potential of value that Ikaros held. A perverted smirk grew over his young face.

"Master, is something the matter?"

"No, why?"

"It's just that your nose is dripping blood."

"What!?" Tomoki felt his nose and sure enough, a stream of blood steadily dripped down his face.

"Would you like me to fix it, Master?" she inquired, waving a card. Tomoki couldn't have described the card very well. It sized like an average card from a deck. The back had a pink oval in the middle with silver quarter-circles spanning away from it on a background of purple and silver. The front was a whirlpool of orange and brown inside what looked to be a portal.

"What is that card-thingy?"

"What, this?" she asked brandishing the card, "It's a pleasurable delivery service card that can access the Synapse and collect anything you desire from it. Please don't ask about the Synapse, information about the Synapse is restricted. All that I may say, is that is the order of a world above."

"So, you can do anything with it?" Tomoki's eyes had locked onto the card.

"Within reason, for example, I cannot resurrect the dead."

"Can I have money?"

Ikaros nodded, mouthing something incomprehensibly and held up the card. It went poof and turned into a ¥100,000,00 of cash. Tomoki's eyes widened with shock.

"Sohara, I'm feeling ill. Cover for me and I'll be at school tomorrow!" he called out the window.

"Okay! Feel better!"

Now that's her taken care of, Tomoki thought, I should further... explore the opportunity that I'm presented with.

"Master, are you quite okay? Your nose is still running."

Tomoki dabbed at his nose with a crumpled tissue. He contemplated the possibles that Ikaros had. His smirk grew and he eyed off Ikaros.

"So, how many of those cards do you have?" Tomoki asked.

Ikaros thought about it and counted off her fingers, a very human trait that Tomoki noticed. "As many as you need. I have fifteen on my person, but I can summon more."

"Can you turn us invisible?"

"Not exactly, I can bend the light beams around us so we aren't able to be detected. But all other types of security will pick up on us, all angeloids will be able to sense us and those who notice may see the strange light arrangements-"

"I don't need to know anymore! Do whatever you just said!" Tomoki demanded.

"Well, okay... As long as you're sure."
