The next day,I showed her around camp getting looks from camper every now and then. She was quiet. Later on that day everyone is getting ready for capture the flag. "Do you have a weapon?" I asked Erin. "No."
I handed her a sword,she moved it around her hand. She striked at a tree and made a clean sweep at a tree branch. The branch fell to the ground. I watched wide eyed. "Woah."
"I don't think this feels right,Percy." She looked for another weapon. And another and another none of them felt right. "Maybe you need a custom weapon?" I was putting on my armor when I a heard a sharp whoosh go past my ear,in the corner of my eye I saw an arrow stuck in the wall. "What the heck!?" I examined. "Sorry Percy, but I couldn't try it inside." She replied calmly. "So you use me as a target!?"
"Well yes. I didn't know that was going to be a big deal." I sighed,"Just don't do it again. Get ready."
"For what?"
"Capture the flag."
Now don't get me wrong this girl is pretty...nice but I don't think she's fighting material. When other campers ran past her,she just sat there twisting sticks. "Are you just going to stick there?" Clarissa and her friends from the Ares cabin laughed. "Leave her alone Clarissa." I drew Riptide blocking the way. "Move out the way Percy,I just welcome her-" I heard the snap of twigs,a net rose out of the ground. Clarissa and her friends were hanging above the ground kicking and flaying around in the net. I couldn't help but laugh,as I grabbed the new girls hand and took off running.I knew it matter of time she was going to get out."I'll get you for this new girl!!" She screamed through out the forest. We stopped behind a tree. I never knew I hard it was to laugh while running. "That was amazing." I tried to talk while watching our backs. She smiled and laughed. "Erin."
"Hm?"
"That's my name,Erin." She smiled ear to ear,I laughed again. "Well Erin, you're pretty cool." The horn blew and the game was over. We walked back to the camp to have dinner,"Did we win?" She asked as we walked through the woods."Who cares,what you did to Clarissa was priceless. My gut still hurts from laughing so hard." I jokingly told her. We laughed all the way back to camp. I'm starting to like this girl named Erin.
