Erin's POV

I sat down at my desk in the corner of my bedroom. My bedroom isn't that big; just a small bed against the wall across from my desk, posters, drawings and photos of my family at camp and my friends from school cluttered my walls. My favorite photo of all is a picture of me and my dads all at the ice skating rink that was taken a couple years ago at a friend's birthday party.

I've taken some time away from camp to catch up on things with home and school. Since when I arrived at camp I didn't have any parents until Hecate: the goddess off magic, bended the mist to make this nice mortal single dad; aka my father, think that he always had a daughter named Erin who was a demigod. So here I am creating new memories, occasionally he'll say things like: "remember when you were five?" And I'll lie and say I do for his sake. I don't mind.

I pulled out my English homework and read through some of the questions. Number one: Highlight metaphors in one color and similes in another color. "Alright." I pulled some highlighters and started reading the passage. When am I gonna need this in my life? Never. Yeah, cause on my application its gonna say, "find the metaphor." I stared at my homework with annoyance. It sucks having dyslexia and ADHD my mind is always in a different universe....gosh, I'm hungry maybe I'll ask my dad to make me a sandwich. I shook those thoughts away, "I gotta start my homework." I said as I continued sketching smiley faces in the corner of my paper when something shimmered in the corner of my eye.

Turning around and seeing an Iris message made me smile,I walked over to the floating message it surprised me when Nico answered. I don't usually get messages from him,I started to wonder what was wrong.

"Erin!?" Nico shouted desperately, "You need come to Camp. Now!" Somewhere behind him an explosion happened making the message skip.

"Nico!? What's happening!? Where's Chiron!?" I shouted

Nico's voice started to skip making what he was saying impossible to make out. "H-He's.....t-the" the message disappeared. "Nico!?" I cursed under my breath when someone knocked on my door.

My dad peeked his head through the door frame, "what happened?" He asked.

"I-I don't know dad something's happening at Camp. I have to go." I said,he gave me a reassuring nod and a thumbs up. "Need a ride?" He asked.

"Thanks daddy." I gave him and kissed him on the cheek and slid down the railing (quicker then the stairs) suddenly the stairs and the rails started to flatten making a slide, "What the?" I started to increase speed as I got closer to what I thought was the floor. The floor opened to a black hole, I looked around for something to grab as I shut my eyes and I fell into darkness.

~~Camp-half blood~~

I opened my eyes as I was face to face with a slimy giant dragon, I jumped back landing on my butt. I took off my bracelet instantly it grew full length into a snippers rifle. A golden sheet shimmered on the dragon's back. I lowered my rifle and sighed then got to my feet brushing myself off, "Sorry. I thought you were someone er some other dragon." I said to the dragon I'm pretty sure he got the message since he gave me or what I thought he gave me a scaly razor teeth showing grin. "Thanks..." I said as I walked into camp. Surprisingly and discomfort its changed but not a lot though, the camp buzzed with new campers laughing and practicing with bows and spears.

"Hey Erin. I thought you had school during this time." Nico said stuffing his hands in his pockets. Same old Nico, still pale with black eyes like a dark hole. He's gotten taller and more muscular since I last saw him two or three years ago.

"I do, I was doing my homework when I got an Iris message a-and explosions- how's Chiron?" I asked generally confused.

"What do mean? Chiron is fine..and there wasn't any explosion, none that I know of."
