The Joker sat on a window sill, broken glass dusted off so he could sit comfortably. He mulled over what exactly was going to happen as he gazed up into the sky.

From this perspective, he could see the glow of the city and the moon just above it. The view was nice and maybe for a moment, he appreciated it and he felt relaxed.

But relaxation is hard to come by when your mind is mangled and the eeriest of things happen in the corners of your thoughts. He suddenly felt anxious, what if the Bat came just to beat him silly and act like nothing happened? How could he deal with such rejection? Then again, he delt with rejection every time they faced off.

Pale arms wrapped around him, he tensed as the thoughts died and he turned to see Harley. She pressed a kiss against his temple.

"Ya know, puddin' I came to a realization recently."

"Oh yeah? And what is it?" He humored her, disinterest clear on his face.

"I think you're pushing me away." She confessed.

"Hrm.. I think you're delusional, hun." He pulled away from her,"You should stay with the weed lady tonight."

She tilted her head,"How come?"

"I need time alone, I need space. You hovering over me like a damn mama bird is really grinding my nerves." He glared at her,"Must I always explain everything to you? Weren't you some doctor or something?"

Her eyes teared up,"I was a criminal psychiatrist." She frowned,"Don't you remember? We met when I was doing a psychological exam on you!"

He hummed,"Maybe. There's always some doctor doing an exam on me. The busty ones always liked to get real close and personal." He smirked,"If you catch my drift."

"How could you not remember?.." she cried, her hands in fists and shaking,"You said you met the one that first night you were admitted in Arkham Asylum! That you finally saw yourself in that person, and I know you meant me!"

Joker grinned an evil one,"You know who else I met that night? I'll give you a hint, he beats me every night I see him."

"I see.." Harley's lower lip trembled, but she had no tears to shed anymore. "I'm leaving then. At least Ivy knows how to treat a girl."

Joker watched as the blonde huffed and left. He shrugged and decided to prepare for the Bat's arrival.

The dusty floors and ceiling were just fine, a large conference table was in the center of the room. He set two chairs at each end of the table, facing each other. He had a candle in the middle for comedic and romantic affect. Chinese takeout was set for them both, it was probably alreay cold.

A muffled scream could be heard from the closet, the Joker growled in annoyance. He sauntered over, opened the door and pulled out a gun he remembered to have.

Pointing it at the terrified construction worker, he grinned,"I swear to the God you pray to, if you scream any more I will BLOW your brains out all in this closet, you pathetic waste of wardrobe space!"

The man whimpered, tears going down his face. He struggled against the restraints, his thighs getting cramps from being in a fetal position for so long. He nodded in agreement, shutting his eyes as though imagining he weren't in this situation.

The Joker, now satisfied, smiled charmingly and shut the closet doors with a loud slam. He still talked as he walked away.

"This night must not be ruined by anything, which is why I sent everyone away. Far away!"

He sighed, sitting at the table facing the window. He could feel the seconds as they passed. His hunger for the Bat grew larger with each passing moment.
