Chapter Three The Kingdom Brawl

 -----------------------------------------

Adelyn's POV

"Miss, miss, wake up. We're at the kingdom and today's the day we meet the prince!"

Groaning, I turned over on the bed and opened my eyes to see myself face to face with a pair of violet eyes. They were like kaleidoscopes in the light as they swirled around in a bright purple whirlpool.

"Ahhh!" I jumped up in surprise and landed on the soft covers with a thump.

Ow. That hurt a lot. It's not everyday you get scared out of your wits just after you're woken up. You know how you just can't function right after you've been woken up? Well imagine if someone surprises you during that time. Sound fun? No I didn't think so either.

"Miss are you ok?" the violet eyed boy looked at me with wide eyes.

He had floppy chocolate brown hair with redish brown streaks running down his hair. With a child-like innocent face with prominent dimples right next to his mouth. I noticed as he fidgeted around with easy grace; he had a graceful figure that seems to let him move around with great agility. Smiling at me timidly, he sat on the floor with his head down.

"Who are you?" I asked softly.

"My name's Blake ma'am." he whispered quietly.

"Call me Ade." I shot a comforting smile at him. "And come sit next to me."

He slowly drags himself from the floor and stumbled towards the bed. Blake sat next to me and looked at me with wide puppy eyes. Looking at his puppy dog eyes that seems to cute to resist, I lunged at him and tackled Blake in a bear hug. As his cheeks flushed a cherry red, I sat next to him and cuddled him like a giant teddy bear.

"Come on, don't be a shy boy, eh? So, tell me about you."

He sat there thinking for a small moment then cleared his throat.

"My name's Blake and I'm soon to be seventeen. I- uh- have a mum and dad. I also live with two siblings; a brother and a sister. He's twelve and she's nine. They're absolutely the siblings you could ever have...." he trailed off with a glimmer of protectiveness in his eyes.

"Care to evaluate? I never had any sibliigs...."

It was sort of sad actually, I hadn't had anyone to share all of my troubles with. It sounds selfish, but it would've gave me some hope to know I was fighting for a loved one. But I guess the Fates decided I needed a good, dramatic life filled with cruel coven members.

His eyes lit up.

"They're so cute; they just walk around like innocent kids and they care about everybody around them. My brother Nathan is a bit overprotective of Ellie- my sister- and they make such a great pair. Nathan and Ellie never really fought and Ellie would rather spend quality time with Nathan instead of all those fake friends she has. I think she actually knows they're using her for something and just enjoys watching them act all friendly." he said chuckling.

"That's great." I paused, suddenly feeling envious of how close his family is.

Come on Ade, no feelings. If you don't have feelings, you can't get hurt when they look down on you, I chided myself. "Anything else?"

Blake blushed a bright crimison that matched his streaks in his hair. "I may be gay," he whispered. He straightened up and looked at me with a challenging face. "And I'm proud of it!"

I rolled my eyes and shot an amused glance at him. What a funny oddball.

"That's great actually; now I don't need to worry about being hit on," I stated wryly.
