TROUBLE IN GAMING

Chapter 3 - The Race

So this was Level 2 huh ?
Now this was a game I had been playing for ages on my wii.
I guess now it was time to play it for real. Guess this can be an example of the "The Real Deal". This time, there was an options bar instead of a Start button. It was there to choose your kart. Well I had a lot of experience at Mario Kart, so I undoubtedly picked the perfect kart, Tom on the other hand picked a......kind of......"OK" kart.
Well unluckily, I couldn't help him out. After picking our karts, it was time for the race to start. After the usual 3...2.....1...... Count down, the race started. Remember when I said "undoubtedly", Well I think now, I might be beginning to doubt my decision as my car was struggling to keep up with the rest of the pack. Tom, on the other hand, was at third place. Oh yes, I just found the hidden shortcut, thanks to all those years of love for Mario Kart. There was also a speed boost over there. Then guess what happened......I was at first place.
That's right, I made it. Hey wait a minute, was someone just aiming a bomb at my kart. WHO THE HELL THROWS BOMBS !!!!!!!!! Oh ya, this was Mario Kart. Well you could've guessed what happened next. Let me just tell you that after that, I was in the place from where I had started...........That's right, THE BACK OF THE PACK !!!!!!!!!
Ok, so now I just had to come up with a fool-proof plan, which was.........uh......Oh ya, use the power ups. And there was one right on front of me. I decided to throw it at the person in front of me. Yes.....It worked.....and my first victim
was..........TOM !!!!!!!!!! I thought he was in third place. Oh well, sorry Tom, guess sometimes, there has to be some sacrifices. I kept on doing the same procedure to get to the first place again.... and just in time also, the finish line was just in the front.
YES !!!!! I had finished first. I jumped off the kart to celebrate, but then I noticed something, something that took the celebrative mood right out of me. I noticed that the other racers weren't stopping, there were instead going to another place through a tunnel. Then I realised......This race had 3 LAPS !!!!!! And all of them were in different locations. I jumped back in my kart and drove as fast as I could have. While still recovering from the shock, I noticed that the gateway to the tunnel was closing, there was a TIME LIMIT to how long it stayed open !!!!!!!!! With the tunnel closing, I was desperately pushing all the buttons in the kart to see if there was a boost. With another push of a button, the kart suddenly stopped, I then knew that the race was over for me and that Tom will have do it alone, I was just about to get off the kart when it started flying, and without a hint, it zapped through the sky and made it through the gate with 2 seconds to spare. I think that was the special feature every car had. I had gotten through the gate, but now I had another challenge in front of me, now I had to catch up with the rest, who knew how far they had gone, but lucky for me, the map we were on was my favourite map. I knew all the shortcuts in it. Well in this case, I had to use 'em all. Although I had taken all of them, I was still behind. Now my only hope to get forward was the death bridge (what is it will people and the word "death"). That was the only shortcut in the game which I had never been able to complete. Too bad the special can only be used once, well.....I couldn't have used my power up anyway, as the bridge was too long and the power up would have gotten over till then.So anyways, Now I had to find a way to cross that bridge, as it was nearly broken.....With no place for the car to move. After a while of thinking, I realised that the railings of the bridge were wooden, and were also the size of my kart. I couldn't have done this in real Mario Kart but luckily I can do this now. I got of the kart, found some wood and attached it with the railings. Now I started driving my kart over the wood, and then eventually over the railing. It was actually quite tricky to drive the kart like that, but I managed it anyhow. Oh no, I see drivers coming, there was no time for placing wood to get of the railing, I had to do it the hard way. After that, I started driving with no further delay's, which got me a second position for fe second lap, which wasn't so bad when I thought about how far I was from them. Now I think I should be getting ready for the final lap.

The final lap was in a dessert, it was a map I had never played on before, so now I had no idea about how I'm gonna do this. I think that I'll have to play like everyone else now. So...I started using the power ups to go to the first place.....but no matter what I did, my power ups would never hit the target. Now this was getting really bad.......its because I like to play on hard mode....and in hard mode.....1 player should come first and in a 2 player mode, the other will have to come under the Top 5. I was not sure where Tom was, but I think I saw him in 4th position after our little accident. He was doing what he was supposed to but me.......what if I don't finish first, I didn't want US to lose because of ME. There was one last turn left with a single pile of powerups. It was now or never. I grabbed my power up.........It was a bomb. I threw it at him...but NO....IT MISSED !!!!!!!!!! He then used oil spill.
I got trapped in it, my kart was spinning. When I stopped, I was facing the WRONG direction. While I was there, I saw someone probably using there special ability, it was a boost. But something was weird, the car was coming straight for me. It was Tom !!!!!!!! Due to the boost, he was able to push me forward at a great speed. I was catching up to Mario (The guy in 1st position), and in a Flash the race was over. WHO WON ?
There was a slo - mo replay. Mario had been forward.....When in the last second..........YES, I HAD WON !!!!!!!!
Mario had come second and YES, Tom had come third. We had made it, and it was all because of Tom. I didn't have time to thank him though.........as we had been transported to the next game........Which was........PACMAN !!!!!
