The Sun and The Moon

You're the sun dear, and I'm the moon.

I had a hard time shining without you.

We went through our phases together, and when we eclipsed we were beautiful.

You brought warmth to the masses,

I cooled them off in the night.

You were beautiful and bright.

I was cold and dark most of the time.

You remained constant,

I changed nightly.

And some days you need to be your own light.

So some days I became nothing, for your sake.

We're so unhealthy for each other.

I suck away your light.

You make me chase you.

I am always envious.

You are always praised.

I govern the night.

You rule the day.

We are different, opposites of a sort.

I love you though, and without you I would cease to be.
