Post Apocalyptic Kaos

Life goes on

So you know how people would watch movies and freak out about post apocalyptic scenarios happening? Well imagine actually living one and having your best friend be one of the first to witness what was actually happening. Earth was already being driven to shit and waste, but why does the government gotta go and make it worse? People as stupid as that easily ruined humanity. 2 whole years have gone by from the stupid attack that took place.

The attack that only took place because of some stupid scientist trying to prove something that no one actually needed proof of. You think that they'd seen the post apocalyptic movies and not want to try shit that could fuck up a whole living race. I guess they're just to stupid to understand that when they say don't try this at home they mean it.

Enough about how this world got so fucked up. Let's talk about how things are going for me in particular. Honestly if you ask me the only good that has come from this wasteland that we call home is the fact that when the radiation hit and all the meteors we got lucky enough that we adapted and our genes mutated. It's like we all involuntarily became superheros.

Most people have super speed including me and the few people I've been with since this happened. Then again i also got super strength which is actually pretty legit considering I'm a badass you know. The only other person i know who has a second power would be my best friend. She's a telepathic which is probably one of the best things that a person could have because i mean silent conversations duh.

She's a kinda small girl. About five foot one and has like extremely brown curly hair to match her big brown eyes.The things we been put through since this happened aren't easy especially for the both of us. We manage tho we're badasses. As far as things go we make due.

"Hey Ash you wanna snap out of your stupid little phase over there and actually pay attention to what's going on here?" My brother called at me from the cliff to my left. I had totally spaced out and forgot that we'd been on watch cause it was about time that my family and the few friends i had needed to find a new place to squat. I snapped out of it and i replied, "Yea yea sorry whats going on are people approaching?" He just shook his head and looked at me.

I could see he was worried since mom and dad hadn't come back yet from looking. "Maybe we should take off and just go look for a place it's getting dark after all," i kinda shouted as i looked around at the darkness breaking edge of the scenery.

He nodded and we kinda just left a signal to let my parents know where we had been and what direction we were going. Aaron and i took off down the opposing side of the cliff as we begin our search for cover. Here in this new world its advised to be indoors once night falls because the darkness brings unpleasant things. Unpleasant, scary, non-human things. After a while meteors started to fall and the things it brought only added to the danger of this planet.

There are different creatures that come out all very very bad to be near. I'm sure there are scientific names for all them, but us not knowing exactly what they are we gave the few we had the unfortunate pleasure of meeting, names. You have what we call the Flamedrils, which i guess you could say are the fire version of like dark tendrils. They have the ability to just randomly pop out of the ground. At night they're pretty hard to steer clear of and that's because you can actually see them.

There are shape shifters pretty nasty creatures considering that they could probably shape shift into like your mom or something. The 2 years on earth we humans haven't been the only ones to adapt to our surroundings. As of now those are the only two creatures we've run into. Oh wait hold on. There is one more that i'm not completely okay talking about because.... Well when all this first started we didn't know that it's better to stay indoors at night. With us not knowing you know we would still go out thinking everything was okay. One night we decided to go out to see if any other people were still near us and how bad everything was affected by the disaster that took place.

My brother and I had been the only two to go since my parents were trying to make sure my younger siblings were okay. We went walking around the already ruin like neighborhood and called out to see if anyone would respond. A few people did here and there and we helped them if they needed help. We continued our search for more people when we came across the school that our house was by. It had been so dusty and you could barely see anything, but we continued through it looking for more people. A couple of people that we picked up decided to tag along.

Upon our continuing search we started to hear shuffles. We got scared a little thinking that maybe it was just someone trying to find their way towards us. So ultimately we decided on walking towards the sound to go check out what had been shuffling. We walked paying attention to the noises direction and then out of no where something grabbed my leg and dragged me down and backwards. I screamed and clawed at the ground. "Aaron! Aaron help me please!" My screams began fading as whatever had hold of me dragged me further and further away from my brother. "Ash.. ley I'm.. coming!" I barely heard my brothers yells.

I snapped back to attention and shook my head. I can never really remember the rest after that all i know is that i woke up covered in blood and a series of wounds all over my body some included bite marks from said creature. I don't have a name for it, but it was something bigger than a shape shifter or a flamedril that's for sure. I try to never think of that night considering that when i do it's like i can feel the stinging pain that is coming off every scar that horrible pound of unearthly flesh left on me. So on all accounts we've met three of the new inhabitants to Earth.

Setting my thoughts aside Aaron and I had caught sight of a suitable house that could probably fit everyone within our party inside. He looked at me to make sure i saw it and rule number two of being out in the wasteland never and i mean fucking never look away from in front of you when you're running. There are radiation pockets here and there and if you are not paying attention to what's flying by you, you will hit one head on and get sick. So he looked and the minute he did that he hit a pocket and i saw him just bounce back and sink to the floor.

"Fuck Aaron! Why would you look away?! You know the damn rules!" I yelled at him as i stopped and tried to get him back up. It hit him to severely that it impaired all his senses. "Fuck what am I supposed to do now?" i run my hands through my short blondeish brown hair. "Fuck fuck fuck... you are my responsibility how do i do this dammit." i said under my breath. I saw that we had still been a ways away from the house we had just seen. "Ash.. just go *Braghh*." He said right before he threw up. "I can't just leave you here idiot. Fuck i gotta figure out what I'm gonna do." I started to freak out.

I looked around and something clicked. You have super strength you dumbass. I sighed shaking my head in my utter stupidity. "Aaron just hold on here." I pointed to my neck. He reached up and i lifted him as i began running towards the house. Before i reached it i felt the burst of wind gust past me and i smiled. Our parents had found us.

Boy was i relived to see my parents fly by us. They had reached the house before Aaron and I did. I ran straight through the door and my dad closed it behind us. I set my brother down on the couch so that my parents could check him out. Before i even got the chance to completely stand up i felt a hard thud on the back of my head and i winced. My mom took it upon herself to smack me as hard as possible over my head. "What the hell did you do that for?!" I yelled at her as i set Aaron's bag down and rubbed the back of my head. "You were supposed to be watching him! Now look at what's happened!," She yells at me as my dad monitored my brother. I moved away upset. "It's not my damn fault he decided to be a fucking retard and look away!" I yelled back.

"He's 20 i shouldn't have to babysit his ass anymore." I say as i sat down. She came towards me as if to hit me again, but my dad grabbed her hand. "Quit it this idiotic bickering isn't going to get us anywhere. He's not that bad all we gotta do is keep him hydrated and let him rest so i suggest the both of you shut up." He said as he let go of her hand. He covered my brother and left a few water bottles by the couch for him.

I sighed and my dad looked at me. "Was this everything?" He asked pointing to the bags. I shook my head and replied, "We were going to go back for the rest once you guys had shown up, but you took forever and it started to get dark." He kinda just rubbed his temple and looked around. He looked down at his watch and said, "You have about a good 20 minutes before the sun goes down go get the rest of our things and get back here fast." I just nodded and opened the door as i took off back towards the cliffs.
