Three days had passed since the night Michelle and I had "dinner" in her room. I swear that that has been the only thing on my mind since. Anyways setting that thought aside for the moment. I was sitting atop this gorgeous hill i came across today. It was odd. The hill was inside a small cave that had a skylight so to speak. Not only that, but there was a small spring running at the bottom. I decided to go out and just run around; it had been awhile since I've actually gotten out to just go run. Yes it did dawn on me that Liz may kick my ass for leaving without telling her, but I am more than sure that at this point she's already on her way towards me. I just needed to get out of there and in my defense i would much rather leave without telling her than waking her up. I sighed a heavy sigh and just laid back as i watched the clouds. I started drifting off some humming softly.

I heard the earth shifting above me. I sat down stretching and I waited to see if the sound was coming towards me or going in another direction. Sure enough it was headed my way. I knew who it was i just wasn't gonna bother. The sound got louder as i looked up and saw the person jump over the hole. I laughed a bit and then I could tell she stopped. Before i could even look back up she had already touched ground on the hill. I stumbled backwards and rolled down the front of the hill. I tried catching myself, but i went face first into the spring. I pushed up and spit out the water. There was a very ominous feeling lingering in the cave and i got the chills. I stood and looked up. For a small person she looked very big up there. I sighed and jumped back up to the top right in front of her. She looked like she was getting ready to beat the shit out of me for leaving without telling her. "Hey." I said walking past her sitting back in my spot. She turned around and sat in front of me. "Why didn't you just leave a note?" She asked drawing in the ground. I leaned back laying my head on her thigh. "Because i don't want you to worry. Even if i did you still would have come," I replied looking up at the sky. She tapped my forehead and said, "Even if i did i mean it worries me either way and you know why." I nodded my head and closed my eyes. "Beautiful place don't you think?" I asked feeling the cool breeze. "Very." She replied. Time passed and i fell asleep with her there.

I sighed softly as i ran my hands through her hair while she slept. She always liked when i played with her hair. She may be a pain in the ass, but she's what i have left. She's my best friend. I should have smacked her, but watching her roll down the hill made me laugh so it's okay. This cave is really nice and serene. I miss him. It was hard watching it happen, but not a day goes by that I don't think about him. All the bad things in the world that could have happened to anyone and it could have been anything. So why me and why this. Why'd i have to be the one to lose him. Maybe had he not been so stupid and left it alone.. Just maybe he'd be alive. I swear if she was awake right now and could hear my thoughts she'd probably be the one beating the shit out of me. Why does this all have to be so hard. Why me...

I mumbled softly as i woke up rubbing my eyes. I felt her hand slide through my short hair and i smiled softly. "Hey." I whispered. "Hey." She said back. I poke her cheek and ask, "You were thinking about it weren't you." She looked shocked. "How did.. how did you know?" She asked me as she looked away. I sat up and stretched some. "I'm not as dumb as i act you know. If you need to talk about it you can. I was there too. I'm right here." I sit so that I'm sitting right in front of her. She looked back at me and pushed me backwards. Before i knew what had happened i was tumbling backwards down the hill again. I landed on my ass in the water and i heard laughing from the top of the hill. I sighed and jumped back to the top. I looked at her and she was crying. Not from laughing because she pushed me over, but because of what was going through her head. "You feel better now?" I asked as i held my hand out to help her up. She took it and i pulled her up.
"I didn't mean to do that, it just.. " Her voice trailed off. I patted her head. "It's okay. It's not like it hurt. At least you laughed." I smiled as i yawned again. I turned around to look down at the tunnel that ran to the side. "Ash." She said and i turned back around. She stepped forward and wrapped her arms around me. I tensed a bit and then relaxed. Rare and i mean rare does she hug me on her own. I grab her arms off me and place them around my neck. I hug her back and i could feel the rise and fall of her chest from each sob. I rubbed her back and kind of hummed. We stayed like that for a little while until she stopped crying. She pulled away and wiped her eyes. I sighed softly. "Can i tell you something?" I asked her as i ran my hand through my hair. She hummed softly and then nodded. "Do you think that there is even a remote chance that he's still alive.." I say as i wait for her reply. She just shrugged and then pointed to the hole up top. "Alright yea we should get going before people start worrying." I say as i jumped to the top. She followed and we took off towards the house.
