Leaving to become stronger

Part Ten

Lucy stopped by a humongous tree and high- jumped to sit on a branch. The branch can easily view the entire city. She looked around satisfying her eyes for a second, and thought 'How nostalgic.'

She felt calm.

She closed her eyes to inhale the rain's cold breeze.

She decided to walk around the city for a bit, passing by the marketplace and cafes.

She stopped when she felt a presence following her.

For a split second she saw what it was.

It was a shadow.

Her keys started to glow.

"It's okay guys. Stay put." she whispered, calming her spirits down.

She thought that, it can be dangerous fighting in the open area.

'I should go somewhere where there's less people.' she thought.

She paid no attention to the figure following her then walked normally and entered a dark alley.

She sat down concentrating and trying to locate the presence that was following her a little while ago.

She sensed the shadow and she dashed to followed dark silhouette to a dark corner of the city.

When the shadow was cornered, she spoke up and asked, "What do you want, this time?"

"It's nothing for you to know at this time, Heartfillia." It nastily replied.

She remained silent.

It spoke once more.

"In due time. Maybe, we'd even need your help, then." it laughed evilly.

It attacked her viciously from the side and she was able to summon Loke and Virgo using her mind, just in time.

Loke and Virgo kept their defenses as Lucy comes up with a strategy to lure the shadow from the dark.

'I know!' Lucy thought.

"Star dress: Leo form!" she cried, using a little bit of Leo's power on her.

She knocked the ground and it formed a magic circle.

"Zenith of Regulus: Lion brilliance!" she shouted.

Light burst from the ground, knocking the shadow from underneath.

The shadow was forced to come up to the surface.

She saw the dark figure smirking at her.

"Loke. Virgo!" she calmly called.

"Hai." They responded in unison and remained still.

When they were able to gather enough power, she lets them know what's in her mind telepathically.

When both have charged, they only went to tackle the shadow.

"As I thought." Lucy grinned in amusement.

"I see... so you've noticed." The shadow countered, playfully.

"Yup. I knew you could only summon your dogs to watch and battle, if necessary." she observed.

"And, I know that you're here somewhere cozy, watching." she added.

"You're pretty sharp, considering that you're weakest one from Fairy Tail." The shadows projected an evil smirk.

"Is that the best you do? Break me by silly words?" Lucy dared, smirking playfully.

The shadow stood in confusion as the girl he just insulted just smiled at him.

Lucy giggled at his reaction for a few moment, then she stopped laughing and mirrored his smirk.

"Admitting that you are weak, doesn't mean you're the lowest." she paused.

"It's also a proof, of how you grew and can become stronger." she added, confidently.

"Now, Loke-Virgo!" Lucy called.

They've ambushed a figure from above them, on top of an inn.

The figure was stunned and panicked since his physical location was found.

He hid on the shadows and quickly fled.

Lucy followed the shadow and ran out of the alley.

She was led to a maze nearby town.

'This is a trap' she thought and decided to let it go then sighed heavily.

She noticed footsteps approaching, just right behind her.

"Such overwhelming magic power..." she muttered softly.

She sighed and turned around, removing her cover.

Looking intently at the figure behind her, not saying a word.
