The closed window and door made the room look darker even though the sun did not set yet outside.

A few dim lights around. Where her sweet voice read him his favorite story.

Betty stopped when she realised that Edmund was asleep already.

She felt so relieved and got up leaving the book by the nightstand.

Walking quietly towards the window, opening it slightly to get a view on what was going on outside.

The guards were all over the palace's wall, especially the closed gate.

After closing the window betty walked towards the huge mirror Ivor told her about.

She kneeled down and moved it to the right and could not see anything other than a wall, but when she pressed on to her surprise it opened.

Betty was stuck between feeling worried and relieved but she decided to stay composed and pray for the best.

That chamber was packed since all the girls were gathered in there and did not know if it was safe to head back to their rooms.

Clair tried her best to make them feel more at ease.

"Everything will be alright"

She did not know if she could believe her own words since she had no clue of what was going on outside.

Their worried who have been whispering around for a while suddenly went quiet when someone tried opening balcony door.

Louis was down. covered in his own blood.

"I will go get him, your majesty"

Ivor said while rushing down.

Leo was surprised that Ivor did not even wait to hear his answer.

"Open the gate"

The advisor said with a scary look on his face.

Even though they had no clear orders from their king but they did as asked and slightly set the gate opened allowing Ivor to step outside.

Looking at the crowds who were celebrating the fall of Louis wishing for his father to end up in the same situation soon so that their hearts could feel the joy of peace again.

Ivor kneeled down to check on Louis who was breathing just fine, looking up at the winner who's breath was getting heavy.

Elmer's hand was shaking he could almost let go of his bloody sword but tightened his grip around it for show.

"Are you alright?"

Ivor asked Louis who's eyes were wide open.

"Yeah, I can get up"

The advisor helped Louis up while lending him a shoulder.

The second prince's eyes widened of shock when he saw Elmer.

'Am alright, it hurts but I asked him to, why does he look so hurt?'

He could not talk to him since Ivor walked him back into the palace.

But at that moment, Louis realised yet once more than his plan must not include turning Elmer into a killer even if it would make him a king, he would lose himself to the guilt.

"Are we not doing anything? the gate was open and half of the guards are still away we must do something"

Hawk said while approaching Elmer.

"Am just following the plan, we must wait for the signal"

Elmer replied without even looking back at his friend.

"It's alright, I can walk by myself"

Louis said with a smile.

Ivor was of course worried but he knew that he had to stay by Leo's side to prevent him from doing anything insane.

"You know it is not as easy as you think, playing the villain could cause you a tragic ending"

The advisor said.

His dead eyes spoke from a painful experience even though his face had a smile on.

"We are alike then"

The second prince said.

"But you know I trust Elmer not only with my life but with the whole kingdom, I bet you can't feel the same about Leo now"

Louis then added, his words did hit deep and hard.

Ivor knew it all, he might have needed a slap to wake up.

He saw himself in the young man standing in front of him, doing it all for a dear friend.

The difference was that Louis's faith was in a kind heart while Ivor's was in an old friend who was no longer around, just mere ashes of his existence he kept chasing after for years.

"Prince Louis, you are right that's why I would like to support you in this"

Ivor bowed his head saying.

The red haired girl closed the balcony door once she made it in.

She turned around smiling after taking her mask off.

"Everyone is here, Hi!"

Aylin said.

Their worried then surprised faces turned into happy ones immediately.

"Aylin!" , "You almost gave me a heart attack" , "Where have you been"

Meanwhile Clair stood back eying the whole outfit realising that Aylin was the girl who stabbed the king and it only made her proud.

"I can not answer all questions but Louis needs us all"

Aylin interrupted, everyone went quiet waiting to hear what she had to say.

He walked up those stair, up a wall where the view was supposed to look magical but that was not the same Lydia he once knew.

The fire stands were lit since the sun was about to go down.

The crowds did not seem to be willing to move anytime soon.

"Your majesty"

Ivor greeted while kneeling.

Leo who seemed to be running out of patience.

"If they do not back down we must use force"

The king then said.

"We can not do that, these are the people of Lydia, let me talk them out of it"

Ivor suggested, trying to buy them some time.

"I will do it"

Leo replied.

The king got up, looking towards the prince who was still standing beside Hawk and Venator.

"One minute, is the time I will allow you before sending the guards out to kill you all"

Leo said, his loud scary voice echoed around the empty space reaching their ears.

He had no mercy left in him, Ivor's disappointed expression took the best of him while he quietly walked away.

The fear wavered their souls and the whispers grew loud.

Some who would want to stay and others who were already leaving.

"It's alright"

Elmer looked back at them saying with a smile on his face.

"I would not want my people to fight for me, I should be the one fighting for all of you"

As if he was trying to put their hearts at ease and tell them that leaving was the right choice.

"What do you mean? the people are the only thing standing between us and Leo"

Hawk whispered in anger.

"Well, not anymore"

Elmer replied with a serious look on his face...
