Working with Mani's dad was exhausting. I don't know how many times I have gone over questions. He was paranoid as fuck. He finally explained that the feds had been building a case on B, and his sudden disappearance was sure to raise suspicion. He was acting like a nigga was stupid or something, but he had no idea that I was damn near an escape artist when it came to 12. None of it mattered though; I was finally home, and all I wanted to do was see them. Mani still wasn't ready to talk about her pregnancy with me. I had decided to wait till she was ready; I wasn't going to trip bout it. I found it unusual that there was complete silence when I first walked into the house. I get home around the same time every day, and there is always a TV on, making noise. My first thought was that maybe they were asleep. I had already been checking in on them when they were sleeping. It was weird, I know, but I just wanted to be close to her by any means necessary. I aint never think that she could have a nigga like me nose wide open, but here we were.

I opened the door and turned the handle. I opened it slowly until my head could fit through the opening. They were gone when I peeked in. Exhaustion was catching up to me cause I didn't notice her car was not in the driveway. An envelope was on the bed as I was ready to shut the door. I looked around as if someone were in the house with me. I'm too damn nosy, I just had to take a peek. After walking into her room, I grabbed it off the bed and wondered what it could be. Sliding the paper out of it I began to read what was inside. My curiosity turned into panic. She wants a divorce. I shredded the papers without hesitation—there was no way I'd let that happen, not while I was still breathing. Prince's belongings were missing as I turned to look around the room. His books, pull-ups, and toys were all gone. The closet door was empty when I opened it. Her drawers were empty. I finally faced the reality that she had left. I grabbed my phone from my pocket and called her. It immediately went to voicemail. I made a couple more attempts, but nothing. I was furious; my body was filled with anger. If she thought she could escape me after making me fall in love with her, she was sadly mistaken. No matter what happened, she would always be mine. I didn't care.

I dialed up this new hire named Tee, he filled preach positions. "Yeah, boss," he responded. Find my wife. Spare no expense to find her, and the reward will be more than generous.. Say less boss, imma hit you up as soon as I get a lead. I called Dre next. If no one else knew where Mani was, Lynn did. I hated that bitch, and she hated me, but it was worth the try. He answered and said what was good. Put Lynn on the phone. Why, what's going on? he asked. My patient was running thin. Put that bitch on the phone now I barked. "You trippin'," he said. Dre, it won't be pretty if I go over there, I warned. Fuck, you mean Rome," he responded." I'm not the lil nigga you used to run over no more. Iight bet was all I said and hung up.

I pulled up to Dre's house and couldn't park fast enough. Before I even had the chance to knock, he opened the door. I pushed past him and went inside.

"What's going on? You trippin'," he said.

"Where the fuck is Lynn?" I snapped.

"What are you looking for, Lynn for?" he asked.

I turned, got right in his face, and said, "Where her ass at?"

"My ass is right here," she said, coming down the stairs—mouth slick as ever.

"Where Mani?"

"What you mean, where she at? She's not home," she said, playing dumb.

I knew that bitch was gonna pretend like she didn't know. I started walking toward her, and Dre jogged behind me, stepping between us.

"I know you know where she's at."
