Apparently there is going to be a party in the common room today, because that's the only thing I've been hearing about lately. Everywhere I go I hear something about it. It's gotten so bad that I can't even think strait in any of my classes. Our teachers had to calm the students down uncountable times today.
A party sounds great to most people, I'd be right with them if I still had friends! Back in London, I went to many parties over the years. But besides that, I can't go anyway. Draco and I neither can go. It starts as soon as class is over, which is the time of our... "detention."
Of course I'd be placed in this situation! Everyone we know are out having fun, while I have to sit in a desk, with my 'arch enemy' and rot.
All day I've heard of nothing but the party, and how they just can't wait to be a part of it. So, you can't blame me for being so cranky. And I hate to say it, but Draco neither. I've noticed he's been getting teased for not being able to come by a few people. They were probably joking with him, and he may not act like it, but I know that he took it to heart, that's how he is. Ironically, I feel bad for him. Not that I'd ever tell him. He's terrible to me.
When Draco and I got into the room there was a sense of tension in the air, both of us were cranky, and both of us wanted to go to the party. I sat myself down in my regular seat, staring straight ahead. I wasn't ready for the next few painful hours of torture.
"Hagrid or some other loon isn't going to come in here would they?" Draco shut the door swiftly.
"No, I don't think so. Haven't seen him all day." I my arms crossed over my chest. "Why?"
"Listen, I need you to cover for me Yeah? I'm going to the party." Draco said with sure determination.
"What makes you think I'll cover for you?" I scoffed, unbelievable. He's so selfish. And out of his mind! Does he really think he can treat me like garbage, then expect a favor? No.
"Because I'm your best friend." Draco rolled his eyes, obviously talking sarcastically.
"You declared that wrong a long time ago Draco." I said bitterly. Even though I tried sounding indifferent.
'Best Friend' as if that even begins to explain my relationship with Draco.
"Oh come on get over it-" He stopped. "I need to go to this party." He was literally begging.
"If you're going I'm going too. there's no way I'm staying in here." I snapped. I can't believe he would think I'd sit in a quiet room with nothing to do while he's out partying.
"But what if we got caught!?"
"Poor baby." I rolled my eyes "You beat up my boyfriend. How much more trouble can you get into?"
"He's not your boyfriend. And a whole lot more trouble! my dad would have my head!" He ran his fingers through his hair, frustrated.
"Why do you have to go so badly?" I watched him pace the room. He was going mad. No- not literally. But just about. His hands were shaking by his sides and I could tell that he'd do anything to get out of this room at this point.
"I need to show them! They all made fun of me today- I have to show that I still can go."
"Draco, if you're only caring about what those other buffoons think about you it's pointless. You're just trying to prove that you're 'bad' and 'cool' but you're not. And- it's not worth getting in trouble with your father for."
He wasn't listening to a word I was saying. He was still pacing around the room like a maniac.
"Vicky- Victoria. The party has already started... You- Do you want to go? Just come on." He stuttered. He looks way too in his head. Clearly not thinking correctly. He had a one track mind and going to this party was definitely the only road he wants to go down.
I rolled my eyes and got up from my desk "Yeah Draco lets go." I was annoyed, but surprised he let me come with him. I would think that he wouldn't want to be caught with me- at all. I guess going to this party really does mean a lot to him.
Draco and I closed the door putting a locking spell to seal it for good until we come back. Usually, there's no teachers to watch us, or no one lets us out. But it's better to be safe than sorry.
Draco tried his hardest to dodge the teachers- especially Filch. It was impressive yet funny. Because he would flinch at every sound he heard.
When we got to our common room we finally found our way in the party. The only person supervising was our prefect, who was way too into his own business to realize that we wasn't supposed to be in there. Heck- he probably wasn't even told.
There were people everywhere. Some were dancing, others where laying on the couches, people were even levitating in the air! It's exactly as the people described it to be.
And when I turn to look at Draco, he's already with all of his friends, probably bragging about how he 'crept out' of the room to come to the party.
At that moment all of his friends turned around and shot me a snicker.I didn't mean to show the sadness in my eyes, but it did. Draco's face fell, but he continued talking to his friends.
