I tried my hand at writing a role-reversed one shot. The prompt was "stiles starts to realize he has feelings for lydia". I think I like it. What do you think?
It had been a week since Lydia Martin had accepted to tutor Stiles Stilinski. Despite his bad boy attitude, he actually did care about going to university and had to get his grades up. So he had asked the school nerd to help him. And surprisingly, they got on really well. She didn't laugh at all his jokes, which was weird, because he's clearly hilarious. But other than that she was nice. And he had to admit she wasn't that displeasing to the eye. Her hair was strawberry blonde and fell in messy curls that framed her face perfectly. And her eyes were the most amazing shade of green. To be honest, Stiles was surprised she wasn't part of the popular clique. She definitely had the looks for it. The few times he had come over to her house a bit late and she was already in her pajamas, Stiles had to keep himself from checking her out to obviously. She had the habit of wearing really short cotton shorts and a tank top and damn was she hot.
They didn't talk outside of their tutoring sessions. They never talked before and some tutoring sessions weren't going to change that. Besides, Stiles didn't want to risk his social status for some nerd. But somehow the boy had started wishing they did talk. He had caught himself waiting impatiently for their next meeting several times and wasn't sure what to think. Stiles Stilinski never had to deal with feelings. Sure, he had enjoyed being with Malia, but they had dated only because they were both attractive and popular. Besides, Stiles wasn't sure you could call have sex dating. When he had discovered that she was cheating on him, his ego was shattered, but not his heart. Despite his experience with girls and his long list of conquests, he didn't know what feelings really were.
After days of thinking about what it all meant, Stiles concluded that he was simply attracted to Lydia. And to stop thinking about her, he would just have to seduce her. From then on, nothing could stop him: he had decided to get the girl. Stiles usually got what he wanted, but after a week of seductive smirks and winks and suggestive jokes, she still hadn't fallen for him. And that, he wasn't used to. He had used the same technique on lots of girls and it had always worked, his good looks allowing him to say practically anything. But it didn't work with Lydia. And for some reason, he didn't want to move on. He told himself it was because Stiles Stilinski didn't surrender, but he was starting to wonder if there wasn't something different about that girl.
One day, he walked towards the chemistry classroom, smiling at the anticipation of seeing her. The class had a seating arrangement and she always sat in front of him. However, she wasn't there. Stiles knew something was wrong. Lydia was always early, in every class. He tried to think of something else but he just couldn't. He pretended to focus on what Danny was telling him but his gaze kept falling back on the empty chair in front of him. As the clock started to near 9 o'clock, he was doing his best not to panic. He knew he was overreacting. Maybe Lydia was late, maybe she got into some traffic jam. Despite his completely plausible assumptions, he had gotten used to seeing her cascading curls right in front of him every monday morning, and not seeing her fiery strawberry blonde hair almost pained him. It only got worse when the class started and Stiles realized she wouldn't be coming. Was she sick? He shook his head and tried to think about something else. For example, Erica Reyes was wearing a particularly sexy outfit today. But even that couldn't distract him. What the hell was wrong with him?
The rest of the day felt like agony to him. First, because he didn't know why Lydia was absent. Second, because he didn't understand why it the hell it was important to him in the first place. He couldn't focus on anything else and his friends asked him several times what was wrong with him, but he never answered, instead he shrugged and changed the subject. At the end of the day, he finally spotted Allison, Lydia's best friend, in the parking lot. She was with Scott. He walked towards them. At first, he tried to make small talk and was planning on asking the question as if it had just crossed his mind but he found himself blurting it out as soon as Allison saw him. She laughed a bit at his impatience and told him Lydia was home, sick. Scott looked a bit confused for a minute, his gaze moving from his girlfriend to his best friend and then a huge grin appeared on his face. 'Shit, he knows.' thought Stiles. Scott had transformed into a hopeless romantic the minute he had met Allison and he was always trying to figure out if Stiles had feelings for girls. The boy never believed his friend when he attempted to convince him that Stiles Stilinski didn't have 'feelings'. They had argued countless times on whether feelings were a good thing. Scott always said that love was great and that a relationship didn't mean anything without it, whilst Stiles asserted that feelings just got in the way of enjoying yourself. Now that Scott had figured out that his best friend felt ... (he tried to find the right word but couldn't) something for Lydia, Stiles would never hear the end of it.
