A few weeks later, with Joe now fully settled into home life with Freyja and George. With all of them sleeping much better because Joe hardly ever woke up in the night, Freyja and George decided to look for their own place, in order for them to get out of Nicola and Dom's hair and so that they could finally have their own family space. Also they wanted to have their own place so that Joe could have his own room, and Freyja and George could then have a little more 'alone time'.

They both loved having Joe in the room with them, but things could sometimes get a little cramped and George would be forever falling over baby toys and stubbing his toe on the mosses basket, which of course was very amusing to Freyja. She agreed that they needed their own space though, because even she was starting to get a little agitated at being stuck in one little box room. Of course she was grateful to her mum and Dom for letting them stay, but she and George felt restricted to what they could do. They also both knew that Joe  needed more space than just one room to move about in.

When Joe was having a nap, Freyja and George sat down with the laptop to look for some houses that were fairly close to where they lived now. This was  so that they wouldn't be too far away from Dom and Nicola, because they wanted Joe to see as much of his grandparents as humanly possible. But the house also had to be within their tight budget, which could prove hard in the world of house hunting.

And so they searched housing website after housing website and each one was either too much money or was unsuitable. They  also wanted a garden so that George could attempt to teach Joe how to play football, obviously with attempt being the operative word here. Their searching hit a halt when they heard the sound of Joe's ear-torturing yet also in a way, sort of sweet crying. "I'll go," George said, as he reluctantly dragged his heavy body off the pale cream couch and walked into the bedroom. He picked Joe up carefully, to ensure that he wouldn't hurt him, he then carried Joe  into the living room. "hey what's that noise for mate?" George asked, just as Joe was sick on his shoulder. "oh, that," he said, looking very displeased and all Freyja could do was laugh at him, Joe gave George a cheeky smile as if to say 'you love me really daddy'. "You little monkey," George continued as he tickled Joe lightly before passing him to Freyja whilst he took his top. Freyja then cleaned Joe up.

"aren't you going to put your top back on?" Freyja asked as she passed Joe back to George and continued with house hunting. "Thought you liked looking at my abs?" he asked, slightly disappointed in himself. "I do, you idiot," Freyja giggled and kissed George. "I just thought yano with you holding Joe and everything that it might be a little weird." She continued, as George looked at her, and he tutted. "It's supposed to help with bonding with your kid, babe. Apparently if the baby can feel the father's skin there's supposed to be some sort of connection formed." he stated, and Freyja looked at him with her famous 'what the fuck' face, making George giggle "ooh, check you with all these baby fact's lately," she teased him and then went quiet due to her undivided concentration now being on house hunting. Whilst Freyja carried on looking for a house for them, George carried on trying to get Joe to say daddy.

Freyja spent the next two hours looking on housing sites and private renting sites for homes near where they were already, and eventually she came across this little house just outside the town, and it was within their budget as well. She showed George and they both agreed that it was nice, and would be ideal for staying close to Dom and Nicola. So Freyja got the number for the current land lord of the property and rang him to see if they could possibly get a viewing of the house, but she was informed that this would not be possible due to the house being sold earlier that day and the new tenants had already put the deposit down towards the house. This did not dishearten Freyja though, because she then found out that the house did not have a garden and so it would not be appropriate for Joe's needs anyway. So in effect, the other people had done Freyja and George a favour by buying the house before Freyja found it. The landlord expressed his most sincere apologies to Freyja for any inconvenience and then hung up the phone.
