Change in plans

Sooo... I'm back. 

And it took me fucking forever, I know. 

But first, I reread my original chapters (the German version of this story) to translate them ... and honestly, they sucked. And not in the fun way. 

So I was struggling on what to do. Rewrite them? Keep true to the story? Change it up a bit? 

Kind of killed my muse. 

Then the world happened. You're all living through these insane times as well, you know what I'm talking about.  As a German, who, based on their aweful history, spend A LOT of hours in school sifting through the horrors that was the third reich and World War II, I can tell you, what America is doing right now is so scarily similar, I felt stunted for a hot minute there, watching history repeat itself – Let me tell you, nobody actually gained anything from that war. My grandparents were born into it (hadn't voted the nazi regime into power but were children when the craziness started) and carried the scars that war left on their young souls for the rest of their life. I feel for everybody living in America right now. I just hope the clown cabinet that has been voted into power collapses in on itself soon with all the egomaniacs trying outperform one another. Kind of feels like Trump and Musk are already and odds, so there is something to look forward to. 

Anyway, I'm getting off topic. 

I had a lot to do the last month – exams, existential crises, disliking my writing, existential crises, essays to write, allergies kicking my butt, spring cleaning, questioning all life choices and wanting to start over somewhere knew – I guess you know the feeling. 

Now I feel like I'm back on even ground and have the power to write again. Rewrite that is. I have  an idea where I'm changing things up from here, so if for some reason you already read the German version and are now utterly confused why these stories start to vary: That's the reason. 

I still need a hot minute to actually plot the rewrite, so I don't mess things up and create mayor plotholes. Hopefully I can upload the next chapter within a week. I also intent to upload chapter three of "In Another Life" soon. Need to do some restructuring there too, since these stories are linked with each other.

I'll start plotting now. If it's sunny, wherever you are right now, go get out, soak up some vitamin D and smell some flowers. Take a breath. Eventually, everything will be alright again :)
